We booked the red buses, because we had had very nice experiences in other cities. But in Munich, the main city tour had the German audio loud on the speakers and it made it hard to listen to any other language. In the other two tours where only German and English were available, both languages were on speakers, one after the other, resulting in you hearing the explanations of places that are already behind you.

The staff that sold us the tickets and that were supposed to provide information at the main stop were the most unfriendly tour-people I've ever encountered, rude and not helpful at all.

The bus driver was care-less and rude. The ride felt as if he thought he was caring a load of potatoes instead of passengers.

"Hop-on Hop-off" tours are generally good, but the red Buses in Munich are definitely a NO-GO! ... I'll try the blue ones next time.

My wife an me always take bus city tour on our travels and this was worst ever.

Shorter one 1-10 stops was total rip off.

Information were given in same time on English an German. Like that gude was not able in right moment to to give right information. Info came too early or too late. Also bus driver - although no traffic was rushing trough streets.
It could be that there is just not much to see in shorter tour.
My opinion this is not good value for the money.

we were travelling as a group and we could see a lot of munich that we would not normally have seen if we had not done this tour. we visited the palace at nyphenberg, the bmw welt museum, and saw the university district, besides the traditional centre of munich which was covered on the smaller loop. the longer loop was definately the better one and a must do trip. ideally on the first day you are in munich.very good value. do not miss it.

We bought a three day travel pass and jumped on and off the trains and the underground, there was four in our group, we had our pop up map and planned each day ourselves. The ticket was much cheaper and saved us buying tickets each day, you can use it as much as you like. Every time we got to a rail track, the train arrived, it was amazing so quick and very efficient and a pleasure to travel this way. We saw a number of attractions, museums, hoffbrauhouse, English garden, BMW museum, Olympic grounds, markets, shops and restaurants. The food and beer were excellent, it was a really enjoyable city break which we hope to do again.

Also a good Point for those who travel in winter is that the majority of the bus Sightseeing day tours are closed. For example, Dachau, Zugspitye, etc.
But i have good News for you !
When you travel you can buy tickets with DB Deutsche Bahn and reach the places via central bus Station and then take a taxi to the place or another bus or Train if required.
I did a trip to Audi Museum and took an Ingolstadt Train from munich. Also a Zugspitze tour and took a Train from Munich to Garmisch PartenKirchen.
This applies only for Winter. During the rest of the year I recommend you to take the tour with the Sightseeing Company.
