Just returned from a two week trip in Bavaria. First three nights of the trip were spent here at Hotel Uhland. We took the train from the airport and chose to walk to the hotel. Only a few short blocks from the train station and not a problem with luggage.

The hotel is on a quiet side street and about a 15 - 20 minute walk to the Marienplatz (about 10 to the wall/gate then another 5-10 to the platz). Easy walk and once you get to the city gate there's quite a bit to see. A little far out if you want to return to the hotel to change for dinner. And, not much close by for meals. There is a good little restaurant around the corner that the hotel recommends.

At the end of the block is the huge Oktoberfest grounds which would make a great place to walk or run.

Our room was a twin bed room on the third floor. Suprisingly roomy for a European room and very comfortable and clean. Bathrrom very small however (and again very clean). You will need to bring your own toiletries as shampoo/conditioner/soap, etc was not provided. And, if you're used to a wash cloth, you'll need to bring your own as well. Excellent water pressure!

Beds were pretty comfortable and linens quite nice. Very small twin beds though!

Breakfast was high end European style with a wonderful dining room attendant who would bring you wonderful pots of coffee! Food consisted of yogurts, cereals, meats, cheeses, various breads and rolls, fruit (and fresh fruit), juices, hard and soft boiled eggs. Very satisfying.

Overall a wonderful experience with great service. I'd prefer to stay a bit closer into town but the benefits of this hotel made up for it!

This was our first stop in Germany. Parking was available and it was about a 10 minute walk to downtown city center. Breakfast was not included, but for €5 it was very good. The rooms were large and modernized. This would be a great place to stay for Octoberfest -- just a few minutes away.

We arrived early in the morning from the US and they immediately let us check-in. The rooms are basic ,but immaculately clean and for european standards very big. Our bathroom had just been renovated. Every employee and the owner were very helpful and extremely friendly( they even had lactose free milk available for us at breakfast!!). The breakfast buffet is wonderful. The hotel is easy to reach by subway or within 8 min walking distance from the main train station. Location could not be better! It is centrally located but in a very quiet neighborhood. Everybody speaks English very well and go out of their way to assist you with anything you might need. Wonderfull place to stay

We were in Munich for 2 days on our way back after skiing in Austria and stayed at the hotel Uhland. I booked this hotel based on the review on TripAdvisor and the free parking availability, as we had rental car. We were very pleased with the hotel - it is very nice and impressive building, had the feeling of the old European building. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Everybody working in the hotel was very nice and helpful. I would prefer to be a little closer to the center for a short stay, but in overall we enjoyed our experience.

We recently visited Munich and stayed at the Hotel Uhland. We arrived early in the morning and the owner was working at the front desk and since our room was ready she allowed us to check in immediately, it was great appreciated! The hotel is very impressive upon arrival, the rooms are nice but basic. The rooms were very clean and but very bland in their fixtures and decorating. This is the only improvement I have for this hotel. The free wifi and breakfast was part of the reason I booked and was not disappointed. Everyone who worked their was very nice and curtious. They could always give us a hand with the public transportation and what to see in Munich etc. Overall a very nice hotel. The breakfast room is very nice and they do provide a computer if you do not have your own.

Room Tip: We had a comfort room, it was large enough and adequate. Our bathroom was small but expected in Eur...

We went to Munich in the summer of 2009. Yeah, took me really long to write a review.

ROOM
My husband and I, with our then 4 and half yr old daughter got a family room on the first floor (believe that was Room number 4?). The room is huge with a king size bed plus a full size bed (for my daughter). That room may have been a living room in the past. It's comfortable and home-like. The bathroom is nice too. We really liked our room. When my friend and her family stayed at the same room in the following year, she really liked that room too. My parents came with us and had the double room next door (room number 3?). I have to say, that might have been the room that some reviewers complained about. The bathroom is REALLY small and the furnishing in the room looked basic. We paid EUR 115 for the family room and EUR 86 for the double room (2009 price). Guess price does make a difference.

LOCATION
I really love the location. The hotel is in a nice and quiet residential area which is good for a walk after dinner. It's very easy to go to places by taking the bus at the street corner and then transfer. It's 10 mins walk from the train station which is a public transportation hub. So if you don't feel like taking the bus, you can always walk to the train station.

SERVICE
At check in, I thought the front desk was not that friendly but later on, I realized it was just the German style. The people are in fact really helpful! My mom likes to drink tea and the staff got my mom an electric kettle to be kept in the room. We drove to Neuschwanstein and stayed in the town there for a night. The staff took care of our suitcases during the time we were away. The staff also played with my daughter and made her hot chocolate (actually she still remembers that now). You may not see the typical American ear to ear smile, but my whole family was very happy with the services we got.
