Going to try something a little different this time, we stayed at a number of places this trip and we will note our previous and next hotel at the bottom of each review. That will hopefully give you a sense of our experience and a comparison of the places we stayed. Also we believe that you can give a rating of 5 to a two-star hotel which meets or exceeds what it should deliver, though having said that, it still remains a two star hotel and is in no way a five-star hotel, nor should you expect a five star experience. Also we for the first time we traveled with carry-on luggage only so we had a little more freedom in movement and walking was never a problem for us since we were not dragging huge pieces of luggage around.
So the Uhland is a really nice hotel that is close to the train station (about a 10 minute walk). It’s in a charming old-style building. We had a nice room on the main floor with a high ceiling. The room was well appointed with quality fixtures, a large king-size bed and large double windows that opened. The bed was comfortable and we had a great sleep. The room was simply decorated, clean and the staff provided excellent service. The room was very quiet as it had an extra noise-proof door between the sleeping area and the outside door. Breakfast was served in their breakfast room each morning with staff making and serving great fresh coffee for you. There was an excellent and varied selection of food including boiled eggs, breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit, yogurt, juice, etc. provided.
The price was affordable (108 Euros) given that you are in the heart of Munich and if you do Oktoberfest well that is just across the street. Hotel Uhland was my favorite hotel because they had the best breakfast and the room had everything basic in a comfortable, easy to use arrangement. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
