The Hotel Uhland is near the train station, but far enough away from the strip clubs, etc. It is located in a nice quiet neighbor, but only a block away from the Oktoberfest field. The service was helpful and patient in answering questions during our stay. The room was spacious for two people. The walk from the hotel to Marienplatz was very pleasant.

Great Hotel! , the hotel is actually pretty close to the main train station.plus it's also within walking distance from Munich's main attraction. The staff are also very knowledgeable and provided very clear instructions on how to get to places and also provided good advice on where to dine :) The rooms are clean, breakfast is delicious. our room came together with a spacious balcony which is really nice as well.

Hotel Uhland, thanks to Rick Steves and the RS forum who recommended it, did not disappoint. A very short walk from the main train station, it is located away from the busy station in a quaint quiet neighborhood lined with trees and fragrant blooms that wafted through the air each time we traversed to-and-from the hotel. Ah! what a great reminder to stop and smell the flowers. The entire staff was wonderful--friendly, helpful and pleasant. While this is not a luxury hotel--and we didn't pay luxury hotel prices--the room was clean, spacious for European standards, and beds/pillows were extremely comfortable. Our room was freshly painted with an updated bathroom, so our stay was made even more enjoyable. The breakfast was comparable to other hotels, with a variety of cheeses/meats, hard/soft boiled eggs, breads, yogurt, fruits, juices and an organic station with a variety of whole grain stuff. My only complaint is that no one in Europe seems to offer oatmeal, but my tummy was satisfied every morning and I got the energy boost to explore Munich. There's a restaurant about a block away that offered very tasty wiener schnitzel and white asparagus (seasonal). So I was a happy camper!

Hotel Uhland is located right next to the Oktoberfest fairground...but that didn't help us since we didn't visit during this time. But if you do come for the beer fest, don't miss staying at this gem.

Room Tip: Room 17 has new paint, updated bathroom/shower and no noise from the street.

Great hotel, wonderful staff, more than helpful. Brigette the owner went out of her way to call our car rental agency about a problem we had. All staff was extremely helpful with dinner suggestions and touring . Great location, a short walk, 20 minutes to the city center. Easy walk to train station. Wonderful rooms and excellent breakfast.

After an overnight flight from Atlanta to Munich, we arrived at Hotel Uhland a bit tired but eager to begin our vacation. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood about a 5 minute walk from Theresienwiese station. Nate informed us our room would be ready within a half hour, so we waited for that and then took a quick nap to re-energize. We had room #17 which was somewhat spacious and incredibly clean. The bed was comfy with hugh pillows and soft comforters. The bathroom had no tub but the shower was adequate. The wi-fi worked well in our room. Because of the proximity of our room to the stairwell and elevator, we did hear the constant sound of the door slamming shut and people talking loudly as they passed by - but I wouldn't consider this the hotel's fault but that of inconsiderate guests. The breakfast was very tasty and had a nice variety of cereals, rolls, meats cheeses, yogurt etc. We are early risers, so we never encountered a wait and there seemed to be plenty of room for all the guests at that hour. Everyone we encountered at Hotel Uhland (Nate, Andrea, Brigitte) was very helpful providing useful information, restaurant suggestions, and maps. I would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Munich.

Normally would have given 3 stars, as this is just a normal hotel with good and not so good features, bathroom dated, all very clean, quiet location for a big city but still noisy depending on what you might be used to; breakfast good, but nothing special, the breakfast room is very small, groups have problems to fit. I would not recommend the place for larger parties. However, all facilities as it should be and what is to be expected. Internet is free, however the reception was practically non existent in our room. I reckon the place is not suitable for handicapped/wheelchair as the lift is very small, and there are quite a few steps at the entrance without the alternative ramp. I try to support dog friendly places which this hotel is - hurray! Can't say if it is good value for the money as this is the only hotel in Munich I know. 4 stars instead of 3 because the service is good and the familiar atmosphere, e.g. flower arrangements, free water at reception.

The location of this hotel would be perfect for Octoberfest, right ON the location! Walk to Marienplatz or the main train station within 10 minutes. Breakfast buffet was adequate, I had hoped for more pastries, but still left full.

The room was fine (creepy picture of a boy on the wall; felt like he was watching us!), the bathroom was very clean and seemed newly remodeled. I wished for some wall hooks to hang clothes, however. An easy fix, I think. I loved that the bedroom window opened all the way for fresh air!

My only complaint was the wifi connection. It didnt work in our room (#16), but was perfect in their sitting room. I was using it to facetime home with my family, so had no privacy as it seemed everyone hung out in that room to be connected.

For the price (just under 100 euro per night in May for a room with 2 separate beds), it was great.
