Our experience at Hotel Uhland was very good. The room was clean and quite spacious for a room in Europe. It had a sitting area which was nice to come back and have a quick relaxation period from sight seeing. We walked from the hotel to Marienplatz with no problems, about 20 minutes. The staff was beyond friendly and the breakfast was typical European with cheeses and meats. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they wanted to keep your key while you were out. They said the reason behind that was to keep track of who was coming and going and since they knew our faces, they would know that we were staying there. However, when we would arrive back at night, there would be new people working at the front desk, we would ask for the keys and they would just hand them to us. We had never seen the front desk worker before, so we are not sure how secure it really actually was. They may as well have given the keys to whomever asks for them. This is what keeps me from giving this property an excellent score.
