“GREAT!”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

I loved it, it's a must-see for a movie freak!
Of course you have to understand German, otherwise it's not interesting.
I was there 2009, so there was another programme
I'd like to see the new one

“best day of our lives”
Reviewed 13 May 2013

We signed up for the hour and half tour so we could see Falcor from the Neverending Story. We score majorly with a great tour guide (Florian)-and a fairly small group- and had a blast even though we didn't know many of the other films/shows shot there. There's plenty of funny exercises that engage people of all ages - and getting to take pictures with our favorite characters of all time made our day. I highly recommend it!! :)

“Falcor!!!”
Reviewed 18 October 2012

When people think of movie studios, most people think of Hollywood. However, Germany has a big time movie studio as well, the Bavaria FilmStadt. Granted, most of the movies and shows they produce are for German audiences, but they did have a huge American hit in the 80's, "The Neverending Story". That alone was reason enough for us to visit.

On your visit, you get to experience a 4D ride, which is pretty fun, albeit short. After that, you get a 90 minute tour of the studios, seeing actual props from various movies and shows. The highlight was getting to ride on Falcor from "The Neverending Story". There's also plenty of things to see before or after the tour as there are props scattered throughout a park in front of the actual studios.

“A let down compared to well established film studios”
Reviewed 15 October 2012

We visited because one member of the group is a great fan of Sturm der Liebe which is shot on location. The series can be followed on an Italian private TV station in Italian.
If you have been to other film studios in the US please do not do not bother to visit. The studios offer a tour through a small number of sets where visitors can experience basic interactive film making sessions and props which are popular to German audiences and very much less to non-German speaking visitors. There is an English speaking tour which is shorter than the German speaking one (we had to ask to be taken to the Sturm der Liebe set, which disappointingly featured only one set compared to what is advertised in the brochure).
Main and only notable attraction must be the 4D cinema which is very good, warrants a second visit but doubt if you can do this since you have to follow the tour guide all the time (unlike other film studios in other countries).
Verdict - not worth the price and the time spent, owners need to upgrade their product if they intend to attract large number of visitors. Visit took about 4 hours and it was spent mainly looking at props and sets, no activities/rides in between. Do not even bother paying for the Bullyversum section of this park as it is a total waste of money, still wondering the scope of this section apart basic 'video' games.
