“what a pleasant stay”
Reviewed 17 October 2009

Although most of my colleagues were staying at a different pre-booked hotel, I chose to stay at the Anna. And a good choice it was!
The rooms are clean, modern, with all necesities and even nice additional features, as red/purple/bue moodlights in the shower.
The bar & restaurant are very good. A lot of choice at breakfast, good lunch & diner. The sushi was okay, I don't think there is a Japanese cook in the kitchen, but the salads are delicious.
The icing on the cake is the friendly staff. Very very helpful and make you feel at home during your whole stay. Nice when you travel alone. Thanks!

Very nicely located for tourism (ask for rooms on the side street to avoid the noisy side), nice modern decoration, very clean, good breakfast buffet.

There's alot to like about this boutique hotel. Young staff was helpful and enthusiastic. Rooms did have some expensive designer furniture (like the table lamps). Free mini bar and wifi. The restaurants outdoor cafe is always busy and great place to have coffee/drink and people watch. Location is on walking street and 10 min walk to central plaza and right next to a subway station.

The US$250 all in per night is a bit steep for a 4 star hotel, but I thought given breakfast is included and free wifi/mini bar, its not a bad deal. I would stay here again.

Highly recommended! Can't say enough nice things about it. Walking distance to main train station, even with heavy bags. Lovely rooms at 160 euro/night. Luxuriously appointed, comfortable beds, fabulous bath, roomy, air conditioning (!!), very quiet even on the main street due to double-paned windows. Black-out curtains to facilitate sleeping late! Plenty of breakfast selections and all very fresh. Staff was super nice and took care of everything we asked of them. Umbrellas provided for rainy days. Free internet access. Absolutely no complaints here.

Hotel is right next to subway and 2-3min walk to main central train station. Big department stores right in front of hotel. walking distance to all the tourist attractions. Service was excellent!! (one of the best) breakfast was pretty nice. you have to remember it's a continental breakfast. ( they'll cook eggs upon request. ) Our room was very simple but wounderfullly designed and felt like we were at home. loved their bathroom. YES it was very loud at night and couldn't figure out what that noise was. I was going to ask for another room, but it's not a big hotel, so I didn't think it'll help. I stayed at 3 other 4 star in Germany & Austria, but this hotel was the best, but of course I hope so $200 EUR is not cheap. I'd love to stay at this hotel again if I go back, but don't know if I pay $200 eur for it, but people who work their deserve good review for sure.

Clean, modern, good location. Rooms a decent size.

Can be a wee bit noise if you are on the side with the trams and the restaurant is OK but nothing to write home about

Very good atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant area in the evenings.

Very good value for the price and better than most in this category.

The Anna Hotel is a perfectly passable 4* city hotel. The location is within 10-15mins of the centre of the old town and is very convenient for the main train station and the metro system. The staff were friendly and efficient and the standard room was clean, sizeable and well appointed. The only glitch in this regard was a broken window blind (it only went up on one side) and the ipod cable to plug into the radio (jack was the wrong size). Neither worth fussing about really. Breakfast was good although you have to discover "by chance" that cooked options are available as there are no menus put out. Hmmm.

One the downside it's not exactly what one might describe as characterful. There's no real reception area and being a public bar and restaurant there's not much by way of private space there either. Only staying one night this wasn't a big deal but I can imagine it being annoying during longer stays. Also mentioned by other reviewers is the noise level. We were on the 5th floor and it was noticeable but not excessive. This is so subjective and depends heavily on your expectations going in - this is, after all, a city center hotel!

On balance this is a great spot for a weekend trip if you're looking for somewhere to use as a base from which to explore the city. I'd go back.
