We spent three nights with Alexandra and Sebastian Rosch at their quaint hotel tucked away in Nymphenburg, Germany. We (two couples) each had rooms with twin beds--typical of most German hotels of this type. The rooms were just fine, a little on the small side, but that again, is typical for Europe. I was very surprised there was a little frig with snacks and beverages in our room! Sebastian was very helpful with our daily trips about town. He always took time to help us so that we had the best time! Nymphenburg is a neighborhood on the east side of Munich. The hotel is a short walk from Nymphenburg Palace which is a lovely place to visit even if you don;t tour the palace. They have beautiful grounds and gardens. There were excellent restaurants within walking distance and the best biergarten in Munich! The locals were very friendly. We ate breakfast each day at the hotel and it was wonderful. We never left hungry! It was very enjoyable to return in the evening after dinner and have a glass of wine on their patio. You can easily catch the streetcar to go into downtown Munich if you don't have a car or in our case don't want to drive it! If you are looking for a great stay, with wonderful hosts this my friends is the place to be.

My GPS insisted that Laimerstrasse was on the opposite side of Munich but the Bavarian people are so considerate and helpful that we reached the Hotel without undue difficulty. We could not have been made more welcome. Sebastian, the owner, is just a superb ambassador for the Hotel trade and indeed for the promotion of Munich. His directions to tourist attractions were first class, no doubt assisted by his hotel's location, situated in a leafy suburb but within minutes of excellent restaurants, trams to the heart of Munich and around 8 minutes by car to the BMW WELT. We used this Hotel in a package organised by Jerry Crippen of Umfulana and a truly delightful experience it proved to be.

We stayed here for the second time, having much enjoyed our first stay. During our first stay we had a large room. During our second stay the room was quite cramped. For example, the chair to the desk would not fit under the desk until the staff removed the mini-fridge honor bar from the room. Even then access to the bathroom, if someone was using the desk was akward because the chair butted up against a bed. Unfortunately, we did not notice the desk use problem until after we had used the bathroom. When we asked if there was larger room the very polite young man at the desk showed us a larger room and said he would be happy to move us there the next day but the maid had finished for the day and would not be available to "refresh" the room so he could not move us that day. After unpacking we did not feel like packing up again for just one more night. Also, the small the room was very pleasant, a window opened out on both a huge pine tree and a huge oak tree, the twin beds comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spacious.

The reason we came back to the hotel for a second stay was the very friendly, helpful service. We experienced this very friendly, helpful service on both stays. Helpful means that if you ask the clerk a question he'll go online or make a phone call to get you the answer if he does not already know it and is happy to answer as many questions as you can ask.

The hotel is located in an upscale neighborhood with two authentic beer gardens serving good Bavarian food within a ten minute walk and other restaurants even closer. It is also right next to a palace with beautiful grounds for walking--no entrance fee to enjoy the palace grounds. It is about a ten minute walk from a tram stop, Roman Platz, which has a number of shops and a longer walk from the U-Bahn and S-Train stop called Laim; however, the the trip to the Laim stop can be speeded up by taking a bus that runs frequently. S trains or U-bahns run directly to the Liam from both the airport and main train station. If you arrive by train take the tram to Roman Platz; if you arrive by plane take the direct train to Laim and in either case call the friendly hotel staff for precise directions.

If you are arriving by car you will appreciate the free parking. If you are arriving by train or plane your option is to stay closer to the center of town within easy walking distance of such attractions at the Frauenkirche, Victualen market and NeuRatskellar. Since we bought daily municipal transportation tickets and since mass transit in Munich is so fantastic we did not mind being outside the historical center of town. However, unlike, say Rome, you could stay near the main train station and not feel that you were in a downscale tourist area.

Having come from a 2 month stint in France where customer service was obsolete, the staff here were a delightful surprise. I was traveling with my husband and during breakfast we looked at each other with huge smiles because we were so happy to be here. The rooms were super clean. The location of the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood situated 3 minutes from the castle. Went for a morning run on the castle grounds which I highly recommend. As an American, this is the first place in Europe that I could totally see myself living! I'm sure the hospitality at Laimer Hof had a lot to do with my pleasant experience. Thank you! We will be back!! :)

Sebastian and Alexandra could not have been more welcoming. They were friendly, informative and helpful. They were able to arrange opera tickets for us at very short notice. They also sold tram tickets, which was useful, as well as providing a timetable. The hotel is ideally located for visits to the famous Nymphenburg Schloss (a short walk away), and it's about 10-15 minutes by tram from the city centre. They provide a generous (and delicious) breakfast, and were able to recommend excellent restaurants nearby - the Brasserie down the street was lovely, and the Biergarten was a fun experience. The room was quite large, and very quiet. They also have a reasonably-priced and speedy laundry service, which we used. They have free wi-fi, as well as a computer and printer in the lobby for guest use. They also have a selection of beers, wines, coffee and other drinks in the lobby. There's free parking available. If we come back to Munich (which we hope to do) we will definitely stay here.

This is a great hotel to experience the easy and quiet side of Munich from. The staff at Laimer Hof were really second to none. Our room was cozy and simple and great overall. My only complaint is that we could not book another night at this hotel.

First we were greeted by Sebastian, the owner, who filled us in on location of the palace, resturants and local sites. He was most accommodating in getting us settled in our room. We were able to use the internet to print our boarding passes which was a great time saver. The palace was only two blocks away and the hotel is in a quite neighborhood. This made our last day in Germany very relaxing and stress free. Highly recommend the hotel. The rooms were clean, staff was great and treated as friends rather than customers.
