“Wonderful location, fantastic staff”
Reviewed 15 December 2013

My wife and I spent just a few days here in October and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful and extremely quiet at night which is best if you like to escape the busy city center area. The staff were more than willing to provide recommendations of places to visit and even a place to eat based on my beer preference! A very welcoming group at the hotel, I would certainly stay here again for the service alone.

Our group stayed at the Hotel Laimer Hof and had a marvelous time. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Hotel is within walking distance of the Nymphenburg Palace and convenient to trams. Great breakfast. The only draw back was no elevator---but staff transported luggage to each room.

If you want to stay in a Hilton o Sheraton, why not visit Milwaukee And eat at the best local German restaurant?
Have been to Germany many times over the years and the Hotel Laimer Hof is as goodas it gets.the location is perfect! the tram line. Is close by, the neighborhood is upscale and quiet with some excellent and reasonable restaurant within walking distance. Each room is different, comfortable and quiet. the owners are friendly, very knowledge and Accommodating. If you want a great place that's reasonable don't miss the hotel Laimer Hof.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our five year wedding anniversary. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
-Nice and courteous staff
-Great breakfast
-Cute neighborhood
-Relatively close to tram that takes you to the city center
-5 minute walk to Nymphenburg Palace
-15 minute walk to Hertz rental car (if you plan to rent a car, with plenty of parking in the area)

Cons:
-Extremely small room
-Extremely small bathroom and shower (keep in mind I have been on many cruise ships, and if you know what those showers are like, this was smaller!)
-Kind of far from subway (if you come from the airport this way, a 15 minute walk is tough with luggages)
-Slightly outside the city center

First, let me say that the staff were really helpful, but they needed to be because there were problems. My room on the ground floor was tiny, almost entirely taken up with the double bed. No table or desk. Since I was there for a conference, this wasn't acceptable. The helpful staff found me a topfloor room with two single beds and a desk. The room was rather grim with ugly furniture. Single beds, it turned out, have nasty rough fitted sheets. Unacceptable. But the staff helped me put a nice double sheet on the bed. So it turned out OK. Breakfast was a reasonable buffet, with just about drinkable coffee. Bathroom was good, but with few bathroom bits, so you will need to bring your own. It's very conveniently located for the Nymphenburg, but not really convenient for the other main sites, though there are plenty of buses and trams fairly nearby.

Room Tip: I didn't find a good room.

Dear client,

I am very sad to learn, that you did not like your room. I am running the Hotel Laimer Hof together with my wife and approximately 12 employees since 2003. We have many regular guests and try to do all we can to make their stay happy. There are nearly one thousand very good reviews from guests from all over the world, who liked our hotel very much. As our hotel is not too big
(23 rooms), we nearly always are successfull. Otherwise we would not have been able to "survive" for 11 years...

Our hotel is a "historical building" and we are not allowed to change the room sizes, exterior aspect and so on. The furniture of the rooms consist mainly of antique furniture. Our guests like them very much. Perhaps you prefer modern, design type furniture. One glance in our homepage and everybody can see the furniture of our rooms. Everybody can inform himself very easily nowadays before choosing the wrong type of hotel and being disappointed afterwards. I know that you did not choose our hotel yourself as you were joining a conference in Munich and they did book the room for you.

We have never had any bad comments on our bed sheets. They are of very good quality from a very well know Bavarian company which has a very good reputation. As we are in Germany we use for the cold winter months special thick and warm sheets. But they are not rough, nor nasty!

For breakfast we offer all kind of coffee you can imagine: filter coffee, cappuccino, café crème, latte machiatto, expresso and a tee-Buffet with finest brands (the best you can get in Germany)from all over the world. What kind of coffee did you miss?

In the bathroom there are as many towels as you wish. There also is a hair dryer, of course, shampoo and showergel from "press and wash" 0,4 litre each! On demand we also offer a comb, earsticks, a sewing set...free of charge. If you miss something or have any special wish please just come and see us anytime at the reception. If we really do not have it then we wil organize and buy it for you if possible the same day or latest the next day.

We are in walking distance to the Nymphenburg Castle with many museums, a wonderful parc and the botanical garden. The public means of transportation are excellent in Munich. Within a few minutes you can reach from our hotel all the main attractions of the city. There is no hotel in Munich with all the touristic main attractions in walking distance. Between the "Hofbräuhaus" and the palace i.e. there are ca. 5 km. We do not call this "walking distance" for an average tourist.

Best greetings from Munich and Nymphenburg Palace

Yours sincerely
Sebastian and Alexandra Rösch

We wanted a family friendly hotel and the Laimer Hof is certainly this. We had a lovely cosy room on the first floor and our Daughter Son in law & 2 grandchildren aged 5 & 3 had a very large family room on the ground floor. The breakfast room was really nice and there was plenty of variety to choose from for breakfast. Sebastian and his staff are very helpful showing you how to get to different places and were to have nice meals in walking from the hotel. The Nymphenburg Palace is a short walk away and well worth a visit. There is public transport a short walk from the hotel that takes you to city. We would recommend the Hotel Laimer Hof for your stay in Munich.

Our group has visited Germany the 1st week of Advent for the past 22 years and stayed in a total of 25 hotels (all 3 star). Without any doubt, the Laimer Hof was the very BEST. From the moment we arrived until the morning we departed Sebastian and his staff couldn't make us feel more welcome or offered more service. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished. The breakfast room was charming and offered a variety of fruit, meats, cheeses, eggs and cereals and the delicious brochen. This hotel is in an excellent location. You can safely walk the neighborhood at all hours and public transportation was very close. The apartment was extremely spacious and is great for a family or 3-4 adults. A short walk to Hirchberger Gardens brings you to the largest beer garden in Germany and much nicer than the more famous Hofbrau Haus. Highly recommend you try this hotel. You won't be disappointed.
