We stayed here one night in Apr 2009. The room was nice, but nothing fancy. But it is a beautiful building in a nice area. And the reason it probably gets such great reviews is certainly the friendly service (not something Germany is known for). The reception staff/owners are very friendly and will personally help you carry baggage to you room, give advice, etc. The complimenary breakfast was also excellent with various breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. Free parking can be found in the side streets, and we didn't have a problem finding a spot.

We are delight to enhance all the good reviews, that caused us to choose this hotel.
We have read the previous recommendation, and decided to stay at this family managed hotel.
Sebastian & Alexandra are really guest oriented.
We have got a full description of the location, near by attraction and city center important sites.
Indeed- there is a need in a short bus ride to city center (about 10 stations, and numerous and frequent lines) - but it takes minutes, and the cost of a family ticket, valid 24 hours- is only 9 Euro.
We had a spacious, and very clean family room. Breakfast was excellent, and the neighborhood is very quite and safe. Even parking is no problem- you put the car in the street- no parking fee! In city center it is usually 20 Euro for 24 hours.
they have just installed new LCD TV in the rooms- so it shows they keep on innovating the hotel.
So- we also highly recommend this hotel.

I absolutely loved staying in this charming bed and breakfast type hotel. It was exactly what my husband and I wanted. It was close enough to the trams, and buses to go into Munich, but was just far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. There were also several resaurants within walking distance, so you did not have to go into town to eat. We also had a rental car because we wanted to visit a few attractions further out of town and we didn't want to take a crowded tour. We prefer going on our own at our own pace. One didn't have to have a rental, though, as you could get transportation to nearly anything you wanted to see in Munich and the surrounding areas of Germany. If you did get a rental car, there was no problem finding a place to park at the hotel, but parking in town was a different matter. It was better to take the trams to the city center, and the car to out of town destinations. The owners, Sebastian & Alexandra, were wonderful, very informative hosts, as were their staff. Everyone was so friendly and pleasant! Any question we had, they answered, from eating, transportation, laundry, Euro, weather, etc. The breakfast every morning was delicious and plentiful. They had everything you could ask for and even if you came late, as we often did, they still wanted to serve you something. The rooms were small, but very clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The only thing we lacked was a bathtub. (there was only a shower) but I think there were bathtubs in some of the other rooms if I'm not mistaken. This was not a problem, though, since we did not plan to spend alot of time in the room. We were there just to eat, sleep, and bathe, then off we would go on a journey. If you want to explore Germany, but would like nice and quiet when you get back to your hotel, this is the place to be. I cannot think of anything that was truly a problem for us here. We will definitely stay here again.

This was my first trip to Europe with my Fiance. We could not have been more satisfied with the Hotel's that we stayed in. Particularly with Hotel Laimer Hof. My many hours of research for top quality, but affordable places to stay while in Germany, paid off I thought, upon arriving at each hotel. We began our trip in Weisbaden (sp?) Germany for 5 days, followed by stays in Salzburg and Vienna. Our trip concluded with a brief stay in Munich. Sebastian was a role model host; genuine, friendly, professional, social and informed. Hotel Laimer Hof is situated in the most quaint and safe neighborhood (exactly what I was looking for). Lovely trees, safe streets to walk and beautiful homes. It is located in walking distance to the Palace and bus stations to take you into the city. Hotel guests were friendly, hotel staff were knowledgeable and breakfast was healthy. Sebastian really impressed us by going out of his way to get us two soccer shirts from the Soccer Game. I gave my shirt to a friend on Martha's Vineyard (outside of Boston, MA) who loves European Soccer.

Hotel Laimer Hof is a jewel. We highly recommend this Hotel and would very much love to return someday. Enjoy!

Munchen in January, you say? Yes, it was very cold, but we received a welcome at Hotel Laimer Hof that really warmed us up. Upon arrival it was clear that the service was going to be more than average. We were offered hot drinks in the cozy lobby as well as internet access. The first two days of our stay I was with my 22 year old son. The room was roomy, spotless and quaint with a view over the rooftops in the Nymphenburg area. The bath was large and beautifully appointed. Transit is an easy walk and connections are easily made to all areas, even the airport. When my husband joined us, the staff moved our luggage to the second room. The triple room was perfect with an alcove for our son's single bed and a really large main room with double bed, sitting area and desk. Sebastian and Alexandra took extra time to give directions, suggest dining spots (many of which are in walking distance), and went out of their way to make our stay the best we have had in Munchen. We will return and hope every one going to Munchen will stay at the Hotel Laimer Hof.
