“Friendly hotel in great location.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2009

Location was great. Restaurants nearby and only a short tram ride into the main city sightseeing areas. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and our room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and yummy! If we ever go to Munich again we'll stay there for sure.

We booked this hotel for a short stay in Munich based on the Trip Advisor rating and the information given on the hotel's website. We booked a double room five months in advance, for a two night stay. When we arrived, we were shown to a room (#37) which must literally have been a converted broom closet. It was dark and dreary and so small that the two of us could not follow our host into the room. Upon requesting a larger room, we were given a somewhat larger room (#32), which was not up to the standard pictured on the website, but which was comfortable and adequate for our needs. The bathroom was not very clean, being full of hair left over from previous guests. On a more positive note, the breakfast was quite good, although being on vacation, I thought that serving time only until 9:30 was quite short. The owners were not on the premises, but three very efficient young men made a very good job of running the hotel. They were, without exception, always helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is quite good, the tram was about 300m walking distance and the wonderful Hirschgarten Biergarten was about 600m. There is a good connection with a bus (about 150m) and U-Bahn to the Olympic Park area. Parking is easy in a parking lot owned by the hotel or streetside. All in all, the Laimerhof is a nice hotel, but we were a bit disappointed when it did not measure up to all of the glowing reviews. I think it would be wise to call and find out just what kind of room one should expect, as there is definitely some disparity between rooms meant to be in the same category.

This is a pretty, small hotel with owner/hosts who demonstrate great caring for their guests. From the moment we arrived, they were there to be helpful. There are computers to use in the lobby and a fine European buffet breakfast. There is an easy tram ride into the center and a great beer garden (for 8,000 people!) and the Nymphenberg Palace within a five minute walk. Our room was relatively small and there is no air conditioning, but the provided fan made it quite tolerable in the heat of July. For those seeking a small, caring, clean, quiet environment, this is the right place (and there is free parking!).

Saw this hotel on Trip Advisor and after reading the reviews decided to book it. Sebastian and Alexandra are lovely hosts - nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel welcome from the time we arrived until we departed after 4 days. The hotel is in a quiet area but it doesn't take long to get to the centre of Munich. There are a German, French and Italian restaurant within 5 minutes walk of the the hotel - all with good food and a huge beer garden within a 10 minute walk. Breakfast is a more than adequate buffet - enough to keep you going for most of the day! The rooms are clean and functional. There is free internet access in the hotel and a great selection of beers and wine! This is a place to relax - away from the rush of the city but still within easy travelling distance. We would certainly stay again - it's just like staying with old friends!

We booked the Laimer Hof for our 3 night stay in Munich because of it's rating in trip advisor, and agreed with those who had review the property before us. Sebastian is lovely, and provided sweets to our 3 and 5 y. o. - always a good way to charm the under 6s. Yes, our rooms were small, but everything fit in nicely. The breakfasts were a great way to start the day - with all fussy eaters being catered for. We walked to the Hirshgarten for dinner and a play, walked to Schloss Nymphenberg and walked to the tram stop to get into central munich - nothing was too far away for our little people's legs to manage.
Sebastian and his team were very helpful - from carrying our large suitcase up 2 flights of stairs, to suggesting placed for dinner when the cool night air made the Hirshgarden too cold. I recommend the Laimer Hof to anyone who wanted to escape the anonimity of the larger chain hotels.

I would highly recommend staying at the hotel. The location is excellent, very quiet and around the corner from the nymphenberg palace. Also close to the BMW Welt Showroom for those, who are interested. The staff are amazing - make you feel at home from the minute you walk in, all the way until you leave. Breakfast is very good and there are 2-3 nice restaurants within a block or two walking. Also easy to get downtown by trolley, bus or cab.
