“Super little hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2010

Just got back from a trip to Europe and I could not wait to write reviews for the hotels we stayed in. Wonderful staff, super breakfast. Charming building. Super clean. Our room was very small, since we had 3 weeks of traveling to do we had 3 suitcases and our luggage did not fit in to the room. But since we were only staying for 3 days we did not mind. The neighborhood is super quiet , nice upscale apartments and houses. We got great recommendations for dinner. And all around were very pleased. We did not mind walking to the transportation and short ride to the center. Having Nymphenburg palace next door was really nice. Second day of our stay it started snowing and we went to the wonderful park behind the palace to take pictures.

Hotel Laimer Hof is a real gem in the available places to stay in Munich. The location is a little out of the city centre but right at the doorstep is Nymphemburg Palace, one of the main tourist attractions in Munich. Staff are very attentive and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Rooms are not large but very well appointed and very clean. Breakfast is a generous German style buffet with a selection of cheese, cold meats, breads, cereals and fruit. In all, a very enjoyable place to stay.

The room price was low, which is only good point from the hotel. I red lots of reviews about Laimer Hof Hotel at Munich but the hotel was quite bad choice. The room and bathroom were dirty, breakfast was poor, the hotel/rooms needs a lot of renovation and no warm water in shower. Star rating for this hotel is 1 or 2, not 3 as given in many booking sites. Staff was friendly and nice, but for me a good and clean room condition is more important.

We stayed at the hotel Laimer Hof for five nights in December while we attended the German Christmas markets. The hosts - Sebastian and Alexander and Jan could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The Laimer Hof is located in a quiet neighborhood near the Nymphenberg Palace but is very convenient to public transportation which can take you to anywhere in the Munich area. The hosts are very helpful with sightseeing, public transit tickets, and other points of interest in the Munich area. This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel Laimer Hof and will certainly stay there again in the future.

Great neighborhood - 10 minutes from tram - staff extremely friendly - even surprised my wife with thoughtful gift & champaign breakfast unexpectly for her birthday - nothing but class - not enough superlatives to describe the courteous staff!!!! The breakfast room is gorgeous!

What we'd hoped for. Beautiful house, original features intact. Typically German in a peaceful and elegant suburb yet convenient for the centre of Munich plus the lovely Nymphenberg Palace Gardens. Convenient if you walk - a few minutes' walk to the tram stop, shops and eating places - and the Palace the other way. No hotel lift. Brilliant tram/bus/underground service - get a Partner ticket. Fantastic value and use it all the time. Helpful staff, good language skills, good German breakfast, clean, generous and good value.

Having arrived a day late, after problems with the flights out of Heathrow, Sebastian & Alexandra couldn't have been more welcoming. After showing us directly to our extremely clean & comfortable room, Sebastian then spent time with us marking up a map with interesting places to visit and see, including recommendations about the best Xmas markets (all of which we visited) and the best ways to get around the City - the Trams are fabulous and the transport system in general is extremely cheap & reliable. A truly memorable stay, in a lovely family run hotel, in a picteresque City - the gardens of the Nymphenburg Palace encrusted in snow, were something to behold and we look forward to going back at some point in the future and would encourage anyone visiting Munich, for a short break, to use this as your base (we'll definitely be back).
PS - also try the nearby Schweige restaurant - the food is fantastic.
