“Fab Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend. Hotel is in a great location for the main train station - 5 mins walk max.
Area around the hotel was a lot to be desired. A bit run down with lots of erotic clubs!
We were on the forth floor and our room faced a quiet side street. The room was very clean with a huge bed! There was plenty of storage, a mini bar, tea/coffee facilities and tv. The tv only had one English channel - bbc world news.
Bathroom was very clean with lots of little extras like shower gel, soap, shower cap, comb, razor, tissues and body lotion. The shower was fab! A really powerful waterfall shower! It was heaven!
Didn't eat or drink at the hotel as we thought it was quite expensive - €18 each for breakfast!!!
Reception staff were very helpful and gave us little maps of where we had asked to go and also the ubahn prices.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone as it offers great value for money.
Book......you won't be disappointed.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great breakfast, just blocks from Central train station. They also did their utmost to ensure I got concert tickets delivered to the hotel prior to my arrival. Would definitely stay again.

The Eurostars Book hotel is, like other Eurostars hotels around Europe, a cool and classy affair. The Book stands out from other buildings on busy Schwanthaler str through its use of curved tiles on the outside of the hotel, fluted to represent the pages of books. You guessed it...the hotel is literary-themed and has a massive open book installation behind the reception desk, and every floor represents a different literary genre. Each corridor is inscribed with quotes from books made famous throughout history and each room is personalised to a specific one, for instance our room was 'Madame Bovary'. The rooms are chic, minimalist and fun as well as being a good size with cool bathrooms and all mod cons. The beds are comfy and BIG, so two people have lots of room to read ;)

We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food, however the restaurant is quite minimalist and canteen-like (in a good way), being set by the windows on Schwanthaler str. The hotel itself has a boutique feel and is very welcoming, with attentive staff and efficient service. We were given some chocolates as it was my girlfriend's birthday which was a nice touch. My only slight criticism is that the lighting in the restaurant & bar area is really stark so it doesn't lend much atmosphere - they just need to fix this to take advantage of the really cool furniture and decor, such as the abstract ceiling design. There is a spa and gym but again we were too busy to take advantage of these.

The Eurostars Book is located within 3-5 minutes walk of the Hauptbahnhof, which is a REALLY useful thing if you have cases and are coming from the airport! Just go out of the back of the station, across the road & team line, and down onto Schwanthaler str, turn right and it's about 100 yards. This made it really easy to get about Munich as EVERYTHING connects via the Hauptbahnhof and you really need to use the U- and S-Bahn in this city. It's 2 stops from Marienplatz which is handy.

I'd recommend the Eurostars Book if you want a classy yet quirky hotel in a great location with nice rooms and good service, and you don't want to pay normal Munich prices!

Room Tip: Ours faced the rear car-park area and was nice & quiet. I don't think any will have an amazi...

It was not our first trip to Munich, but it was our first time in this hotel. Before that we stayed in posh Rocco Forte that was bloody expensive, though no regrets;)) this time we were looking for something more affordable, but modern and fresh. Eurostar impressed us a lot. We truly believe it was better value for money. The whole concept of the hotel is very nice: books and all related thereto. It started with a lobby, which has a huge open book on its back with quotes from different famous novels and writers, then each room has its own name connected with names of the books and even building looks as somebody opened pages in it. The hotel is located 4min walk from the central train station and close to historical centre of the city. Reception worked very well and green apples as well as welcome tea with nice cheesecake made it positively different from other hotels. We had standard room on the top, 7th, floor with yard view: very quite and nice. Room is not big, but its perfectly OK for 2 people. Bathroom area with rain shower very well made and we felt comfortable in the room all 3 nights we spent there. TV could be a little bit larger, but it was OK. We did not try breakfast, but we checked sauna and gym and found both good. All in all it was a very good experience and we could recommend to stay there. Besides, it seems that they have bigger rooms for families with kids. Just make sure you get quite side of the building and higher floor. And one more advice: if you walk to the hotel use Bayerstrasse that is along the central train station and turn left on Mittererstrasse. The reason for that is that other streets leading to the hotel from the centre or the central train station crowded, also with strange people and adult stores/shows...

Room Tip: Just make sure you get quite side of the building and higher floor. And one more advice: if you walk...

The hotel was within walking distance to the main train station. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly, but the food was just mediocre and a bit pricey. Our room was very nice and extremely clean. We would stay at the Book hotel again.

I did not know this chain before. I happened to choose the hotel on the following:

* distance from my appointments
* gym availability
* price
* free WiFi

When I arrived, I had noticed most had Spanish names. It appeared that is a Spanish chain. However, a lovely one.

The first night, I was quite cold, because I took a room on the last floor, and logically these are the coldest rooms. I had requested assistance from reception a few times, and they took it quite seriously. They tried to offer me other rooms, where they put electricity on for 1 hour to try, the gave me additional blanket.

On the other day, they had put a small heating machine. It was such a lovely surprise.

I have a special diet, and they were happy to prepare all the times meals and room-service them to, even though they were not in the menu. One can get food, even at 22,45.

Also sauna and gym work until 23h - Great! So great that you have this amusement, especially in cold Munich city.

I loved everybody from the personal - from the cute and caring receptionist, to all from the in-room dinning, who were even occupied with the heating of the room. There are people from Romania, Spain, Germany, Peru and Slovakia - all lovely people as a part of the team. Special thanks to Agnes, Anabel and one blond German waiter - they made my stay fully comfort.

I was astonished, when I noticed that in my 4 * Eurostars hotel, when cleaning - they had noticed the toilet paper roll was started a little bit, and they changed with a brand new. Attention to details made me love them.

Room Tip: in winter - do get a room at the medium floor; have in mind the neighborhood is mostly for foreig...
