“Creative and fresh salads and healthy foods”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

Just chanced upon Dean and Davids and loved their healthy choice of wraps, salads, fresh pressed juices, yoghurt smoothies and prices. Immaculate inside with fast multi lingual service, it is a great option for those in the area of the rathaus who want a quick and healthy meal. Everything was fresh. A good alternative after enjoying (which you should!) all the great Bavarian food in Munich....great for families since the prices are reasonable. Take out and outdoor seating also available.

“A good healthy option”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

This was a nice restaurant. We are vegan and it was not always easy to eat in Munich! but this place had several options. The portions were a little small...

“A refreshing change!”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

Dean and David was a nice change from the heavier German fare during our recent visit to Munich. The casual cafe is great for fresh salads made just to your liking. The smoothies and soups also are varied and interesting. Nothing fancy, appealing to the younger crowd, and ice for your beverages. We enjoyed it!

“Healthy & delicious "fast" food - salads, soups & snacks!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Great freshly made juices (3-4€) of your choice, delicious salads (5-12€). There are a few branches around Munich - this one has outdoor seating: nice for sunny days. Round lunch/dinner of: coffees & muffins.

“Inovative and fresh”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

I've visited several Dean and David outlets in Munich, Stuttgart and Berlin and they all pretty much maintain the same quality of food and service. My personal preference goes with their salads as the soup of the week oftentimes ends up being laden with cream or coconut milk and curries, while a nice change, don't really stack up to something you can have at an Indian or Thai take out. Suggest that you don't experiment with their sandwiches/wraps as these are least fresh and creative.

All the salads from the menu deserve a go, with the warm ones particularly nice. It would be an understatement to say Dean & David dress their salads well, which is not objectionable unless you go with the balsamic-maple syrup dressing which is waaaay to sour - an artifact of cheap balsamic not balanced by the maple syrup adequately. Estragon yogurt is light and quite enjoyable. Beef tends to be on the tender side, but few disappointing exceptions have occurred so go with grilled chicken if you want to be on the safe side. The option to assemble your own salad from a rather extensive list of ingredients is really great. The whole wheat bread slices served with the salads, when warm out of the oven, are an enjoyment in their own right.

The main down side is that the place becomes rather hectic at lunch hour so if you can avoid it, best to visit a little later during the workdays if you want a more relaxed meal (and especially if you're after outdoor seating). Even then, however, the service is expedient, staff helpful and quality of the served food constant. Prices run on a little higher end of the scale for casual dining/take out, but the freshness of the ingredients and overall experience makes up for this. Great choice for a healthy lunch.
