Der Verrückte Eismacher in Munich not only has the craziest ice cream in town but also the best! I recommend: Don‘t go there! You will never ever want to eat other ice cream! And I don‘t care about other ice-makers. I just care about YOU! If you are addicted once, you really have a problem! ;-)
I live in Memmingen - 150 km west from Munich. So I can‘t go there just because I am in ice-mood. But I really have the problem that I can hardly find any ice in Memmingen that doesn‘t taste like [--] compared to the good stuff from Munich!
Okay...joking. Of course you should try and get addicted! And you should watch the happy faces of people trying „Weißwurst“ or beer-ice. But this stuff is not only funny and strange - believe it or not, it‘s really tasty! One of my favourite „strange“ ice-flavours at the moment is pepper-lemon. It‘s just amazing on a warm summer-day. But also the alcoholic flavours like beer, „Radler“ (beer and lemonade) or „Hugo“ are fantastic.
But my reason to go there every time I am in town are also the standard-flavours. You should try pistachio! In my mind the crazy icemaker re-invented this type of icecream! Never tasted something like this before!
Despite from the delicious, creamy, strange, jummy, funny.... ice it‘s also the location. It‘s a very warm and beautiful designed place, dedicated to Alice in Wonderland...you can‘t overlook Burtons influence on the designer. Just sit on one of the mushroom-tables infront of the store and watch the people walking up and down Amalienstraße while enjoying fig-walnut-icecream (one of my personal favourites) proffered to you by this charming, always smiling guy with the pink chef‘s coat, the black tophat and the crazy sparling eyes calling himself „Der Verrückte Eismacher“.
