My son and I wanted to witness this with our own eyes. We cant believe surfers are surfing in the middle of Munich! I'm surprise the current was very strong at that particular area and the sight of surfers navigating the waves was just wonderful. We stood there for sometime admiring the surfers and taking some very nice photos of them.

Definitely worth a look if you are in or near the gardens. We loved it, something totally different to everything else we had seen in the city. The majority of the surfers were very skilled. How they don't surf into the wall I will never know. My adult son and I loved it. Awesome. We did take the long way through a lot of the park, which was an adventure in itself.

This is at one entrance to the park- a standing wave is created- locals take turns surfing it! Really fun to watch for a few minutes before going into the park and doing more people watching- just an unusual and unique place.

Its one of the way to relax and have fun to watch those playing on the waves with their expertise as a surfer, very relaxing sight.

If you're walking around English Garden, which is well worth a visit, swing by the Eisbach Wave. If you're lucky, you may get to see a surfer in the middle of land-locked Munich!
