“Good Option for Short Stays”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

I am always surprised how expensive Munich hotels can be. Even very average hotels can ask 200+ Euros during the week. I was looking for a hotel that could provide a full slate of business services, strong internet access, air conditioning, and was away from the Hauptbahnhof, which can often turn into a quasi-red light area with some questionable characters at night and I wanted to pay no more than $150 USD per night inclusive. The Novotel checked all the boxes for me. While there are some tradeoffs involved, particularly room size I was generally pleased with the hotel.

The hotel is located about 15-20 minutes from the main train station by taxi. This helps to avoid some undesirable areas at night. It is set on a peaceful street next to another large hotel and an upmarket car dealership. It is about three blocks from a main boulevard with bars, restaurants, banks, etc. I can't image any safety or security issues there night or day.

Check-in was friendly and efficient and they informed of a special promotion during the World Cup to earn bonus Accor points (thank you!). The bar was large with a nice selection of drinks. Service was always prompt and it was a great spot to watch the football.

My room was very small (even by European standards) but not uncomfortable. Air conditioning was strong and the premium internet (a few euros more) was consistently fast. The mattress was of average quality but I did not have any problems sleeping. For a short stay, the hotel did exactly what I wanted it to do and stay were friendly and professional at all times.

I was disappointed by the size of the bathroom and the terrible water pressure in my room that made it difficult to shower.

Room service was only average. The food was fine (currywurst special) but it arrived cold and the young lady forgot my drinks. Other than that it was a problem free stay.

Happy Traveling.

We were lured to this hotel by the location and the breakfast offer, as well as a parking garage. We had a major problem with the room at check-in, but after an hour or so, the staff kindly fixed it and gave us the type of room that we had actually booked.

There are many activities such as a wellness area, children's playroom, bar, restaurant (always empty), computers, etc. It is few minutes walk to the Deutches Museum, the city centre, and on the same street with Paulaner Beergarten, just 1km south, which also features a small children's playground.

The breakfast is great, but the rooms are small if you are with a family, as we were. Also, they forgot to replace the glasses or to change spoons in the (free) minibar several times. There are many families with even more loud children, so sometimes it gets very noisy in the public areas. However, the rooms seem to be well insulated and quiet.

Apart from that, everything was OK, but I doubt that we'll go there again.

Green Features: We took care to participate in the towel-saving program, and it is a great idea to spend the savings on planting trees.

Just got back from a fantastic stay in Munich with my family. The staff at the Novotel were friendly and helpful and the location is perfect with just a 10min walk to the city centre. My only criticism is we booked a family room which is basically a double room with a pull out double sofa bed. With two children and my wife we were literally tripping over each other and storage was also a problem. This didn't spoil our holiday it just stopped it from being totally perfect.

We booked a superior room, which was nothing special.
We were hoping for an exec lounge but not one or any advantages that come
With your Aclub card, so disappointing.
Room clean, location good walking distance to train, city & Hoffbrau House.

I have never seen such a bad behaviour on the staff of any hotel. Sorry about that, Novotel is a very good Hotel, the one in Amsterdam had a very nice staff. Anyway the location is very good but with all these i won't recomend it to anyone.

This is a nice hotel not far from the Deutsche Museum. Its about a 5 minute walk (mostly through a shopping mall) from the underground, which serves the city centre in 4 stops. The train gets there directly from the airport. The rooms have air con, and there's a pool - breakfast was fine (but expensive if its not in the room rate - the mall by the underground does breakfast breadrolls). Free wifi (when it works).
