This 2-star hotel is only 2 minutes walk from Hauptbahnhof, the main public transport station. Turkish restaurants, shops, immigrants are everywhere around the hotel, as well as the strip clubs and lapdance bars, yet the area is still safety at night.
The hotel is very clean, towels changed daily. The double rooms are not very roomy, the bed is for 1,5 person, too little for two or a couple and cannot be separated. You have to pay for the wireless internet connection.
The breakfast was excellent for a 2-star (we just missed the vegetables).

If you can get this hotel at a good price, then grab it. Yes, the hotel is in a seedy-looking area, but it is actually not dangerous. And the hotel's location is actually its biggest plus - it's a mere 100m from the Hauptbahnhof (fantastic when you have a lot of luggage) and a 10 min walk to the city old town.

The hotel is being updated, so make sure you ask for one of the refurbished rooms. They are clean and comfortable. The hotel staff are very friendly - even when you are practising your German on them (they all speak great English, though). The Wifi connection is good and cheap at only €3.90 for 24 hours.

Room Tip: Ask for an refurbished room!

We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2012. I'll start with the good. The location, in terms of being 3 minutes walk from the main train station, is excellent but as an earlier review mentions, it is in a pretty grim area. That said, it is largely true that train stations seem to be located in the seedier areas of cities in Europe but this one is probably the worst we saw (Brussels Gare du Midi rivals it for top spot) in our 29 days of travelling Western/Central Europe. The member of staff on reception one morning provided us with a map, which was free.
And now the less good aspects... the rooms really are dreafully outdated. The bed was very uncomfortable and did actually have a radio in the headboard which didn't work. The bathroom was unclean and was made entirely of ugly green plastic. When we asked for a hairdryer the man at reception claimed that he had just loaned at the last one. They have a luggage room in which you can leave your bags after checking out but it was so small and so full that it was practically unuseable.
The breakfast was the worst part of it. We paid around €55 per night for our stay which sounds like great value but this did not include breakfast. Breakfast cost an extra €9.80 per person each day and for what was on offer, both in terms of quality/variety of food and service, I'd strongly consider saving your money and having breakfast elsewhere.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. The convenience of the location is excellent yes, but there are dozens of hotels in this area around the train station so I'd probably try one of those instead, and I'd recommend you do too.

Hotel is just around the corner from the Hauptbahnhof. A Perfect location to explore the city with access to the Metro station at the Hauptbahnhof. Check in and check out was very quick and efficient. We didnt get breakfast here but there are plenty of places in the centre for breakfast.

The rooms are a bit cramped. But they are comfortable.

The hotel has an unbeatable location (less than five minutes walk from the Hauptbafnoff) and is very good value for money...

Ideal for munich sightseeing

No free wifi when i stayed there

Very central hotel, but old unmodernised tiny rooms with creaking beds (when was the last time you saw those radios built into the headboard of the bed?). How it ever gained a 2 star rating I don't know. I think in the 70s the owner decided to retrofit it with more rooms, because the rooms are rectangular with pre-fabricated algae-green plastic bathrooms slotted into them. Mine was nicely decorated with hairs, from a part of the body we don't need to discuss.
In terms of conveniences, there are no hairdryers in the rooms, nor any at reception. And if you need an iron, you need to leave a deposit at reception because they keep on being stolen apparently.
It is central though, 2 mins from hte central station and nicelysandwiched between 'sexyland' lapdancing club on one side, and 'erotic world' on the other. If you don't wish to spend your money at these establishments, there are numerous homeless people on the street who will happily take your money instead. In fact, while we are discussing the disadvantaged in society, I suggest they just the munich council buy the hotel and let the homeless live in it. I've stayed in far better hostels, at vastly less cost, than this hotel.
And talking about money, I paid €391 for 2 nights, which is insane. I'm sure the owner could purchase several irons and hairdressers, and still have plenty of change, at that cost. He certainly hasn't ploughed any of his profits back into the hotel. Maybe he blows it all drinking at Oktoberfest?
You may think this review is unbalanced and unfair, but I've not had a few weeks to reflect on the hotel. Believe me, this review could have been far worse.
So in summary, avoid it, let the owner go bankrupt, and give it back to the homeless on the street in which it stands. You will then be helping society immeasurably by taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor. And you never know, they may even install hairdryers.

Room Tip: Stay away. Unless you want to feel like you're sleeping in a 1970s cruise ship cabin, in algae-g...
