“Disappointing!!!!”
Reviewed 13 September 2012

The photos and the reviews were great which is why we booked here. It was handy to the station and handy to the city centre. The room appeared to be comfortable but.... the shower was cold but was fixed after one night. The internet never worked so we had no way of making our next hotel booking in Vienna. The owner could not have cared less. We have booked many, many hotels in Europe and know how to book online. This hotel( I am not sure why it was called a hotel as nobody was there for us to book in and 2 phone calls later we had access to our room.) This was definitely more like a B & B. Our mini-bar fridge also did not work but this did not stop the owner asking if we used it. VERY VERY disappointing!!!! There was no apology for any of this. It was SO not worth the money. Don't bother with this one.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

We stayed here with our two year old son - with little ones the restrictions of a hotel can be challenging. The Edelweiss is kind of like a serviced apartment yet fir short stays. We had the maisonette room which i highly recommend. With a beautiful big downstairs living area and then stairs up to a sleeping area and bathroom. The room sleeps three (with an amazing bed that folds out of a cupboard - more comfortable than it sounds) but they can provide a cot bed also.

There isn't a serviced reception but the owner comes in to do breakfast, which is a wide selection of continental goodies.

In the basement is a delicious pool, jacuzzi, sauna and exercise bike!

Fully stocked mini bar with a good selection of wines was a plus, as was free wifi.

It's a good base from which to explore the city being only a 10 minute walk to s-bahn or short bus ride to u-bahn.

Although the overtly Bavarian style and lack of hotel service won't suit everyone we found it perfect!

Edelweiss Park Villa has nice and spacious rooms in local Bavarian style. The breakfast buffet offers a good variety. Local train station is within walking distance.
Unfortunately the owners were not present during our 3-day visit. The room service was very poor. The bathroom was not cleaned at all, towels were not changed.
Also some fixtures and lights were broken and clearly outdated, which was a pity, as it would have taken little effort to repair.
A nice private location in general, but room for improvement. Unless the service and maintenance will be improved, the price level is far too high (even during Octoberfest period), compared to other well equipped and serviced boutique hotels in Munich and other major cities .

The pictures on the website do not do the place justice. It appears to be a renovated house, beautifully decorated. We stayed in room 4, which is considered one of their gallery rooms. It's a large living room and the bed and bathroom are in a loft. The bathroom had a shower and a separate bathtub, which was nice. It was kind of like staying in a great furnished apartment. The hostess speaks excellent English. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Allach S-Bahn on the S2 line. Very quiet as the hotel sits in a nice residential neighborhood with fields on two sides. There is an indoor pool and sauna available downstairs but we did not use it. Breakfast was great and I even got eggs cooked to order! Be advised though - the beds are super firm, probably the most firm I've ever seen in any hotel/B&B. At first, I thought, oh boy, this should be interesting...but we slept wonderfully - but I prefer a firm mattress anyway. Also, the hosts do not live in this villa, and there was a sign on the door telling you to call a phone number to gain entry - no problem - unless you don't have a cell phone. Oh, super strong wi-fi too.

I was visiting my friend in Munich for 5 days and he got me a room in this place. He could not have gotten anything better. The place is in a quiet location yet perfectly located about 2 blocks from the train station to go anywhere in Munich (especially for Oktoberfest). The owner Fred is super friendly, speaks fluent english, was super helpful and accommodating. The room was way bigger than I expected with a huge bathroom, nice bedroom, large closet and living room as well. There is also an indoor pool and sauna in the building and should you want some breakfast, they will provide you with a great german breakfast to start your day. On top of all this, the price was amazing.

Anytime I ever go back to Munich - I will definitely stay at this place.
