“expensive bad food”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

We had dinner there in january - we paid 50 € for 2 main courses and a salad, which were really dissapointing.

On the possitive side, the restaurant was lovely, the menu looked great but the food didn't deserve the cost. It is a nice place, and i would recommented it for just a beer, but certainly DONT eat there.

“Silvester dinner”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

My wife and i spent five days in Munich recently. In general a very good time.
One exception , however, the new year dinner ( silvester dinner) in Marktwirt restaurant.
We were seated in what is normally the bier garden outside. They had cowered it with wood for the winter, but had to use four infrared warming lamps, pluss a heating fan. This resulted in warm heads and cold feet. The whole experience was also dewstroide by beeing to greedy, by trying to seat mor people than they had capasity for . This also resulted in a very stressfull dinner. We had a four dish menu and we started at 8 pm. At 8.30 we had finished the third dish, as they wanted to push us through, to get seats for new gustes.
In general a terrible experience on the last day of the year

“Lunch in Munich”
Reviewed 23 December 2013 via mobile

The staff in their traditional Bavarian dress were friendly and helpful. The food was prepared quickly. The food was satisfactory but a little expensive compared to similar establishments in the area.

“A True Gem and Great Value”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

We were in Munich on vacation for 6 days and this restaurant was the highlight of our trip. It was recommended by our Radius Tour guide as an authentic local place. It is tucked away in an alley behind Heiliggeisekirche on Heiliggeissestrasse adjacent to the Victualingmarkt. The service was excellent and the food really delicious. My husband ordered a mushroom dish with a dumpling that was amazing. We also really loved the pumpkin soup. We also enjoyed a nice dry Reisling not available in the US. Beer is clearly a cheaper option in Munich but we enjoyed the treat. We loved everything about the place. Being a great value too made it all the better .

“Nice quiet bavarian dinner”
Reviewed 7 September 2013 via mobile

We came across Marktwirt by accident, but immediately liked that it was away from the busy Saturday crowds. Good beer/radler, ravioli, and roast pork with dumplings, and attentive, friendly, English-speaking staff (and menus).
