Description: Our restaurant "Der Pschorr" is a popular bavarian restaurant in the center of Munich – directly at the Viktualienmarkt. A meeting place for all of Munich, as well as for visitors and friends of the city. We cultivate traditional beer culture and serve up top-quality regional products. Everyone can enjoy the excellent beer, bavarian cuisine and the friendly service. Highlights: We still serve beer from wooden barrels ‐ traditionally cooled with ice bars in a barrel cellar. For all meals: Regional sourcing is important to us. We support the local agriculture by using fresh regional products on a daily base for our bavarian cuisine. In a central location, close to the Marienplatz, "Pschorr" can easily be accessed by public transport. From the many sights, hotels, shops and offices of the city, it's also in walking distance. Barrier-free access to the all areas of the restaurant, beer cellar, banquet room and toilet facilities (glass elevator in the stairwell). See you ...

We were stuck for a late lunch in Munich on a hot Sunday afternoon. Many places closed for the day. Pschorr was opposite our hotel and we had initially thought it looked a bit large and touristy. As choices were limited we gave it a try and were actually very impressed. As mentioned in other reviews, forget starters. Portions are huge. I had the schnitzel and my husband had an excellent rump steak with salad. Meat quality was superb and the menu that we had thought in passing was one with food pictures was actually one explaining the provenance of the food and it was impressive to read.
We did not have beer but they looked good.
Waiter was friendly and spoke excellent English. A lovely meal in a convenient location.

This beer hall right next to the outdoor market pours your beer directly from a wooden cask. Probably some of the best beer you have ever had.

Great location, fun restaurant, and the food was great! I appreciated that they had a "healthy" section to the menu and they had a menu in English. The food was exceptional, but the waitress we had was not pleasant, and would make me think twice about going back, despite how good the food was!

Went here on our first day in Munich as had been recommended. And whilst it was a good experience with a decent range of beer and chatty staff, it was a touch overpriced for what it was. I appreciate we're in a city and one might expect this, but even so I didn't particularly feel as though it was value for money.

Visited here thanks to help from the TA forum where we found that it had disabled access. Even if that is not a factor in deciding where to go then this would have been a good choice. We actually went twice the same day. At lunch time walking around the Viktualienmarkt were were so hot that we needed refreshment and the family insisted on stopping. I wanted to just go in the evening but was voted down. Both times, great service even though the heat must have put a strain on staff.
In the evening a nice server spoke excellent English and was able to help my daughter choose something Gluten free. Learning from other meals we passed on starters and went straight to main meals which again defeated us. 2 of us had beef which was on the bone that had been braised then finished in the oven. Huge portion, would do 2 people actually. My wife had veal in a cream sauce that she could finish and my daughter a large piece of Fillet Steak that was a challenge. Service was excellent throughout. We ate in the garden but at less clent times of the year there are good indoor spaces. A fairly modern building it has a lift to toilets as well as stairs so if you need assistance in any way its a good choice
