Avoid and stay near the S-Bahn

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Nov 2018via mobile
Despite the name and the gouging rates, this hotel is nowhere near the Messe. This morning they were not able to get me a taxi. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere near the S-Bahn if you want to get to the Messe and back most easily during big events like Electronica.

With “Messe” in the title and the rates they charge they should lay on a shuttle bus. If they did that, the hotel would be an OK option.

It's quite a nice hotel which is located not far from the München Messe Exhibition Centre, i.e. slightly outside Munich. We came by car, so it took us around 15 minutes to get to a city centre, but it's likely to be a bit time-consuming if you use public transport.

The room was clean indeed, however it lacked such nice-to-have things as a minibar, a kettle, and slippers.

The car parking costs 10€ per night, however there're lots of parking spaces in the area.

I personally didn't like the corridor carpeting which made me feel dizzy - it looked like 3-D cobbles on a shingle beach.

I would never dream something like this is possible in modern day Europe. During my last stay I had been refused an iron and iron board to my room despite two of my other colleagues doing so just few minutes before me. Note: there were still three free standing units avialable in the lobby but I was told I can only use it at the reception! To my question why two colleagues were just granted this service 10 minutes earlier (both of Caucasian Orgin) I was told to leave the reception because they don’t have time to talk to me!? I was stunned and started recording in order to get an answer? They said they won’t talk to me because they have other things to do on their PC’s. I will issue an official complaint because this matter was a clear case of rasism and discrimination. I travel a lot for business and leisure have never even heared about a similar case.

If you are of black orgin or just non-white stay away from this hotel. I hope no one ever has to witness anything like this anywhere in the world.

Stayed here for a convention. All hotels were fully booked, so commenting on the value for money is useless. Room was comfortable and bed was OK. Quite far from the city center, so definitely wouldn't recommend it for tourists. The reason I gave it just 3 stars was that although they obviously knew well in advance that the hotel is going to be fully booked because of the convention, reception was ALWAYS understaffed, and there was always a long line, with the receptionists while not being rude in any way, were far from being attentive and service oriented.

I have to say that this was just a bad experience, The girl at the reception desk was more concerned with texting than helping us. We asked questions about Bus and Train stations and all she said was go across the street and take the bus to the last stop. We got a map from the stack and asked again our location within the map, she simply replied, we are not on the map...our reservations was a for a king bed, we received two twins (this was not bad after all) instead. The TV would not work, then I realized there were no phones in the room, so I had to go back to the reception to get help. Breakfast was ok, limited selection but edible. The rest of the reception staff was quite helpful but just having that interaction with the first girl just killed the mood. God help you if you arrive at the hotel around 7p... Hotel is located in the middle of nowhere.. it may sound like a good deal but you will pay more in transportation costs...

Booked this hotel by accident and tried to cancel within 3 minutes but was rejected by the hotel. Was disgusted by their desperation for bookings. The consolation was their assistance in their early check in and to a bigger room at no extra charge. Getting to city centre was inconvenient to us with a toddler. We have to walk approximately 5 mins to the bus stop for the bus (which came every 20 mins) to the train station and take the train (4 or 5 stations) to city centre.

As this hotel is booked by tour groups, we (being Singaporean Chinese) were always regarded to be part of the PRC Chinese tour groups and were urshered to the tour group breakfast buffet line. Have to explain to the staff on every occassion that we are not part of the tour group.

Conclusion: Will not recommend this hotel with children.
