“Great location, average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

Great location in The Square, we both had pasta, mine was shrimp, my partners was clams, although it tasted nice, there was way too much pasta and way too little filling, we both left a good amount of the pasta as no sauce to make it enjoyable. Bruschetta as an Appetiser was also average, bottle of water was 2.30E, way too pricey.

Service was okay and location was good, food average.

“Italian Restaurant facing the Market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2013

We liked it so much, we ate here twice. It is located on the main square on two levels, outside dining available upstairs. English is on the third line of the menu. Really good Spaghetti Pomodoro with cherry tomatoes, al dente pasta, sauce throughout, not just on top, good sized portion. Grated cheese, good bread, excellent merlot wine served in beautiful large glass, sparkling clean. Also, mixed grill of sea bream, octopus & scampi, roasted fingerling potatoes. Good expresso. Efficient service. Like a quick trip to Italy.

“Provenza was a really bad experience...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

Except of the woman boss of this place, the service was horrible, the attention to my pregnant woman was miniscule as I had to ask them three times for water to bring and they did nothing to facilitate the situation. The stuff has to change attitude but then it comes to the management dealing with cases like this. I took my wife to eat something small and they really messed up our whole evening. Although the location and the place seems beautiful and pretty advantageous in the Hauptmarkt, the people operating the business don't care a lot, thats why also the rest of the reviews. Visiting the toilets of a business like this especially in our situation, everything should be clean and proper; but unfortunately also the toilets where smelly and the inspection was not done with the signature for the whole day. I find it bad to put a photo of the non inspection signature paper in the toilet in this review. Never bring your pregnant wife there!

“Tasty, quick, and very reasonable.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

We had one hour in Nuremberg to buy souvenirs and eat lunch so we stayed in the square and with only 40 minutes to go we ran into Provenza. The inside was warm and cozy. The pizzas were out to us within 15 minutes and we had 5 minutes to spare before meeting up with our group. We had two drinks, two pizzas, and took away with us two pieces of fruit cake that were delicious all for 25 Euros with the tip. The pizzas were also very tasty with a thin crust. Could not have asked for anything better on that very cold, rainy day.

“Worst restaurant of the trip”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2013

For a restaurant in the main square of the old town, the service was simply horrible. The waiter was very rude, told me off for holding an empty plastic bottle in my hand (no, I was not drinking from it).

The worst part was that at the end of it all, the group of us asked for the bill and as normal people do, didn't give exact payment. The waiter, instead of giving back the exact change, simply kept a 20% service tip from the bigger bills we handed him. Of course, being tourists, we didn't understand half of what was going on and had no capacity to reject him. This was incredibly rude behaviour for no service given to us at all.

Unless the service improves, it was a dreadful experience.
