Staying at Best Western City West and they have a sheet of suggested restaurants. Chose this 'cause we wanted a pub atmosphere. We got that and some.
It's a bit difficult to find but well worth the trouble.
Arrived at 7.15 and the place was packed (got the last table). It's essentailly a beer gaden and very well done. Pergolas and clear cafe blinds screen from the elements.
Beer and a glass of rose while we ponder the menu. A large table of locals (about 14 of them) had cleaned the kitchen of the days special. Shaslick. It looked fantastic.
Wiener Schnitzel and grilled pork neck steak.
Veal was a standout. Thick white veal, lightly breaded and with fries and salad. With a squeeze of lemon......."she who must be obeyed" was in raptures. My pork was excellent. Tender, juicy flavoursome
It's not your fine dining, romantic restaurant. But, if you're looking for really good home style cooking and a friendly pub atmosphere, then this is the place.
A fantastic choice
