We stayed at this hotel over Xmas after a dreadful journey from the UK via Luxembourg, arriving at 4.00am. The hotel staff were waiting on the doorstep for us, carrying bags etc and had arranged hot gluwein and snacks to be ready - even at that time of the morning! What a fantastic start. The hotel cannot be faulted in any way. The rooms were warm, comfortable and clean, more to the point very quiet and we had fantastic nights sleep. Our room looked out onto an inner courtyard which made it rather dark during daylight hours, but this may have been due to the fact that it snowed for most of the five days we spent here.

The breakfast buffet was amazing, I defy anyone not to like it, everything was on offer from hot food, freshly cooked omelettes, fried eggs, the biggest selection of breads and rolls ever seen on a breakfast buffet, cold meats, pate, cheese, fruit, cereals. This set us up everyday for a long day out in the cold and snow.

We had all our evening meals at the hotel and a couple of lunches as it was Christmas. The food was not only beautifully cooked but also beautifully presented and served by extremely efficient and friendly staff - particularly the waitress who was on a one year work experience from Ireland.

All the staff we came across from desk staff, cleaners, the man who cleared the snow every five minutes from the front of the hotel were friendly and helpful but not in a patronising way.

The location of the hotel is 2 minutes across the road from the Haupbahnhof and about 8 minutes walk to the Christkindlemarkt - perfect location!

All in all if ever in Nuremberg again we would only ever stay at this hotel. We had one minor gripe and that was for a hotel of this standard wi-fi was not free (cost of E19 per day).

Until we stayed here, I would not have imagined that there could be a perfect hotel stay. It was one of 14 hotels we stayed in during the trip (including other Le Meridien hotels) and can say that it surpassed all expectations. The reception was incredibly warm and geniune. I used my SPG points to include parking and breakfast and there was no hesitation in helping me to do this. We were also upgraded to a new junior suit and adjoining room - which was outstanding in its fittings and amenities (though we had only one wine glass?). We ate room service dinner - the food was excellent and again the service was outstanding. The breakfast was also excellent. I am in a service industry and can attest that you cannot get this consistency in service quality unless it is lead from the top - they are to be congratulated. On location, you couldn't get better.

The Grand Hotel is an escalator ride from the Nurnberg Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). We spent three days, including Christmas, at the hotel. We had booked a standard double room with a “pay for 2-nights and stay 3-nights” special. We took an early train from Koln on December 23, because we wanted to see sites that would be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas, so we didn’t mind that our room was not ready. We headed out and enjoyed the sites and the Christmas Market. When we returned, Room 515 was ready. It is cozy (small) with a view of the Bahnhof and the Tram Stops.
The double bed is firm but comfortable with nice sheets and pillows. There is plenty of lighting for reading in bed. The bathroom has a big corner tub/shower. There are bathrobes, slippers, nice towels, and toiletries. The counter space is limited but enough. The closet space is enough, but very limited drawer space.
The complimentary bottle of water was nice, but we missed having a coffee pot and supplies. However, there was a little card offering free coffee in the restaurant or bar. We used it and it worked out fine. At check-in we were informed of instant award options for our Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) points at the hotel. We used our points for a wonderful Christmas breakfast. It was fantastic with a vast assortment of breads and pastries, cereals, cold cuts, cheese, eggs and meats, even a chef making special orders.
The hotel charged for wi-fi. We found it quite annoying that there was even a charge to use the computers in their little business center! We just went without...but I did notice a cheap internet cafe in the train station.
The Grand Hotel is in an ideal location for site-seeing in Nurnberg. It was especially a good value with the special rate and the little extras for SPG members.

I had the great fortune of staying at the Le Meridien Grand Hotel Nurnberg during my travels across Northern Bavaria during the Christkindlesmarkt. Although Starwood properties set a very high standard for comfort and quality, the Le Meridien Grand Hotel Nurnberg exceeded those lofty expectations. In addition to a perfect city centre location, the hotel architecture was traditionally pleasing; the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious by European standards and; the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. From the time I pulled my car in front of the hotel to check in until I got back in the car to check out, the hotel staff took care of everything. My sincere praise and thanks to the fine hotel staff at Le Meridien Grand hotel in Nurnberg. I look forward to my next stay.

Loved the hotel... Close to the Christmas Market in the old city, train station, shops and just easy to walk everywhere.

Our room was lovely.... but note, to not have the room on the 1st floor, close to the street as it can get slightly noisy from the street noises if you want a good sleep in the mornings..... But if you want the view and watch people go by... nice..

Love their pillows and great breakfast!

We are a couple with a 1 1/2 year old toddler we stayed for 5 nights in the hotel.
Fantastic location, easy access to the Christmas Markets and just across from
main train station and tram stops. The tourist information centre was located across the street which provided an excellent service and transportation tickets. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room service food was excellent as were the very pleasant staff. We highly recommend this hotel...
