This is a great hotel. I found it online so you never know. Room was wonderful, clean and plenty of space. Breakfast was excellent, and hostesses were pleasant and accommodating. Front desk very nice and helpful. Location is right at the main train station. Shopping area is right there and loaded with shops and historical sights. The value was perfect for us. Do yourself a favor and stay there.

Room Tip: Not a negative for us, but there is no air conditioning. They did provide a fan.

We booked here to have access to the Opera House (3 blocks) and the train station (across the street)... as a bonus we found we were right next door to the handicrafts market and just inside the old city walls. The staff was really helpful, giving us directions to a Laundromat in a nearby neighborhood, and helping with taxi arrangements for our follow-on river cruise.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and we never heard the traffic from the major street just outside the city walls. Breakfast was great, with a variety of offerings.

This independently-run hotel, centrally situated in Nuremberg, is excellent in all respects.
The staff is most attentive and helpful. Small touches, such as offering different types of pillows
make one feel cared for. Despite its central location (and when we were there in May, the European soccer final was being held and there were many revelers), the hotel is quiet and seems far removed from the hubbub.
I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Of the ten hotels we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Germany & Italy, Hotel Victoria was hands down our favorite. The staff were super friendly, the breakfast was something to look forward to each morning, and our room was extremely comfortable - we had a nice view of Hauptbanhof, the tower and the bustling street below us. The breakfast staff were simply awesome. Without prompting, they went out and purchased for us special cuts of meat while we were having our breakfast. It was a warm gesture that we shan't forget. Nürnberg is one of my favorite European cities and I would urge anyone visiting to stay at Hotel Victoria!

Or late Spring or early Fall if they're having a heat wave!

They're is no air conditioning in this hotel. I think I knew that when I booked it, but I booked a "Relax Room" in the back of the hotel where another reviewer said it was quiet and you could open the windows to get some fresh air. I was delighted when they gave us a room on the 3rd floor. The hotel has four floors. The top floor has four "Family Rooms" which I'm told are air conditioned.

The last two days have been unusually warm for early June, more like summer. We did what we could to keep our room cool. We closed the curtains during the day and kept our little fan going all the time. The room was still hot when we'd come back in the evening so we'd open the windows. Our "Relax Room" was NOT relaxing! The noise from the plaza that separates the hotel from the modern art museum behind it was incredible! Skateboarders love that place! It's a gathering place for young people who were laughing and screaming at each other until four in the morning both nights we were there! Granted, it was Saturday night and Sunday, the day before a holiday so people were celebrating, but still...

The hotel staff, who couldn't be nicer, gave us two sheets so we didn't have to sleep under heavy duvets. We pulled out our ear plugs and sleep masks and tried to get some sleep. I know the rooms in the front of the hotel have the same problem as ours did because they're over not one, but TWO Irish pubs!

There are some good things about this hotel. The location is great for sight seeing. The staff, as I said before, couldn't be nicer, and the rooms are very clean and functional. The bathroom has been recently renovated. The bedroom has blond modern furniture and striped carpeting reminiscent of the 90's. In cool weather, I can see how people would like this hotel.

We had some German friends of ours who stayed at the Art and Business Hotel. We went over there. I saw their room. The hotel was air conditioned, very modern, and brand new! They loved it! I was SO jealous.

Dear Panda,

many thanks for your review!
As the Victoria is a building from 1896 it is covered by certain burdens concerning some features.
Therefore it is quite hard to install air-conditioning in all our rooms.
We try to make the circumstances as comfortable as possible for our guests and provide the fans to cool the rooms at least a bit. Some of our rooms in the category Comfort have a good technical position in the building and suppose of air conditioning.
The Art&Business hotel is one of our partner hotels within the association "PrivateCityHotels". The hotel is not really comparable to ours as it is a new building and ours is more than 100 years old, a fact that brings some barriers.
One of the biggest advantages of our hotel, its location, can create some impairments...Unfortunately we cannot influence the city's nightlife but we know that the people passing by during the night may influence night's sleep.
We are happy that you liked some details of the hotel and would be very happy to convince you of our services another time. Perhaps in a comfort room?
We hope you enjoyed your time in Germany and had a safe trip.
All the best for you!
Katharina Mirsberger

Situated 5 minutes from the HauptBahnhof on the fringe of the Altstadt, Management of Hotel Victoria clearly has been focusing heavily on staff training and team building and with excellent results. Without exception all staff are wearing big genuine smiles and are trying as a team to make your stay in their hotel as pleasant as possible.
It looks like the hotel recently has had a big makeover with quality materials. My room was reasonably small, but big enough for a solo traveler and fitted with quality furnishings, everything very clean and very tidy. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom.
The breakfast bar provides a huge variety in hot and cold foods and everything of a high standard. Quality is key in this hotel. Wholeheartedly recommended, as this hotel provides 5 star value for 3 star money.

A very pleasant hotel in an excellent location with most friendly and gracious staff (with special thanks going to Nadine and Magdelena), Our room on the second floor was comfortable and the shower excellent. The continental breakfast was as fresh and extensive as we've had in a long time. Although no tea/coffee facilities in the room, both were available in the foyer.

Two small gripes - parking was not easy so we plumped to use the paid facility (€12/day) which was about 80m from the front door. (You really don't need a car when visiting Nuremberg as public services are good and very close by). Secondly, we did have trouble with noise but, to be fair, on our second night there was a large fire less than 100m from the hotel so emergency services' sirens were at full volume.

Would certainly use again when visiting this beautiful town.
