“Curious but charming hotel”
Reviewed 31 July 2014 via mobile

When we found ourselves in the top turret room, we were surprised but pleased. It's not often you get to stay in a room like this, even though it does face onto a busy street. Checkin was good, and the outside seating was a great place to relax, to reflect on the day, and to muse about tomorrow, which is what we do when we travel. European breakfasts are, well, continental, and while here it might not have been as elaborate as some, it was fine. The hotel's location is also good, just two or three tram stops away from the hotel, depending where you get on, is the old city which you enter through a curved passageway and then it opens out before you. Tram tickets are available from the hotel reception. If you want to get to the Museum of the Nuremberg Trials, which you'd probably want to if you come to Nuremberg, you can catch a train, then change to another at the HBF, or you can do as we did, walk the 3.6k and enjoy the bridge and waterwheel on the Pilnitz.

Good hotel, clean and close to city. Grocery store, restaraunts close by. Staff was great and polite. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety. The garage scared me a little with it's two tier parking.

We stayed here a weekend in february. The hotel is a standard hotel. No more, no less. It is locaded a bit far from everything but there was a tram stop a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The standard room was quite small. There was a "balkony" outside the room that was more like a fire escape and other guets could walk past. This "balkony" door was also the only option to get some fresh air (no windows) so we couldnt air out the room or have fresh air at night. It was the same receptionist every time we went to the reception (day and night) and he was not a friendly face. He was pretty rude and careless. We barely got a smile from him once. Not good. The hotel has free wifi.

It is a comfortable and cosy hotel, not far at all from the city center. Only one tram stop to the metro station (5 minutes walk) or 2 stops from the north corner of the old city, near the castle. really nice hotel, you get almost what you expect.

We stayed here for one night on a stop over to Berlin. Very nice hotel and the staff very friendly. The location is just a bit far from the nearest train station (U-bahn) about a 600 - 800m walk. The breakfast was great and the rooms fairly big.

Ordered a quiet room, got one towards the busy big street in front. I received a package nobody told me during check-in, and I asked to get it on the room, picked it up myself hours later.
At least the size of the single room is okay, walkable distance to a few restaurants, garage okay.

The negatives were tht it was sooo hot when we arrivd. And while I was able to accept tht thr was no air condtioning it was simply unforgiveable tht we were expectd to endure such high temperatures without even a fan!! Even in the lobby (which has glass ceilings n works like a greenhouse magnifying the sunlite )had no fans or air con for waiting guests. The windows on the ground floor rooms would only open fully as a door (they couldn't be partially opened) as they were actually floor to ceiling doors and then all the bugs from the garden outside wld come in-flyin ants/grasshoppers etc
The first night I complaind to the nite duty girl at the front desk but she couldn't understand english properly and kept sayn no sorry. luckily the day girl the next day aftr even more complaining and begging frm me said she wld try to arrange something n thus the next night we got a fan.
The plus points were tht the quadruple room was actually 2 inter connecting rooms with 2 bathrooms so ideal for our family of four. Thy were clean n located by the tram stop tht went straight to the old town in around ten minutes.
