Sheraton Carlton Hotel Nuernberg
Ranked #24 of 126 Hotels in Nuremberg
Certificate of Excellence

Very good service. Nice rooms. But the top of top is the patio on the roof with the spa area. Just amazing at night with the view to the castle
Small minus points, for no free WiFi ( free WiFi is just a must today) and for expensive parking. All in all, a Hotel to recomend.

Stayed: June 2014, travelled solo

This is a good place to stay in Nuremberg (or Nürnberg), with all attractions oft he old town within walking distance, particularly if you travel by car. The Sheraton has its own gated parking lot across the street, and valet parking in the hotel’s basement, while other hotels in the vicinity tell guests to use the public garages for overnight parking (which I did on one occasion, without any problems, but second thoughts about leaving my brand new car unattended). The hotel is up to the Sheraton standards, with nice rooms, friendly staff, and a good restaurant, also serving local specialties. As an SPG platinum guest I was upgraded to a top floor room with a small terrace overlooking the rail tracks of Nuremberg’s main station, an interesting but not particularly scenic view. With windows closed the noise from trains passing by is nearly inaudible. Some top floor rooms might have one drawback, though, if they are underneath the gym upstairs: If the treadmill is in use (usually early in the morning or later in the evening, particularly with big persons), the noise is considerable, and the vibrations can make the glasses shake in the bath. The hotel’s management is aware of the problem, as I was told. If they find a solution, all the better.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are not much better than rooms on lower floors.

Next to train station which was extra convenient. Room was large and comfortable. Staff was very helpful about restaurants and directions. I was here for 3 days on a business conference.

I would have given 5 stars, but there was a smell of smoke in my non smoking room that I didn't complain about. I thought it would go away after a day, but it lingered for my 3 days there. In retrospect I should have complained and asked for another room, but I hadn't....so 4 stars is fair.

This hotel was disappointing considering the prices charged.

The best asset is the hotels proximity to Hauptbahnhof (which is why we booked it) with just a quick 5min walk.

The rooms themselves are large (and we were travelling as a group of 3 requiring a rollaway bed) but in need of a refresh considering the brand and similar hotels of this standard.

The breakfast was extremely poor and certainly not worth the extra money.

The hotel charges for WiFi (again unusual in a hotel of this standard), and at 8Euros for 24hrs the quality of wifi was not great.

I think there are better hotels in the area around Hauptbahnhof.

Centrally located. Close to central station and old town. Large rooms are comfortable even so still no Sheraton sweet sleeper beds and the blanket are all made for single beds. Nice sauna/gym on the top floor. However wifi was most time of the stay not available and hotel staff was not committed to solve the issue. very arrogant staff.

So in my experience staying in a hotel abroad governs different types of pillows and they are the key to a good nights' sleep. Having been used to square pillows I was apprehensive on arrival to whether I would sleep well, or not. Rest assured - oblong pillows as used to in the UK - result!!!

All that aside, helpful staff, great breakfast, comfortable bed, in my case a separate shower to the bath, resulted in an overall excellent experience.

Breakfast - choice perfect - service - absolutely no complaints - overall 100% great experience. Looking forward to my return visit!

Room Tip: My room 624 was near to the lift and there were no intruding sound issues

This hotel is an excellent choice for all wanting to tour Nuremberg and the area. Located just on the doorstep of the main railway station, this hotel is very convenient for either walking about the old town or taking one of the trains for day trips in the region.

The rooms are specious and modern. Staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Price was a little high, but still good value for money!
