Take walk from the town wall along the river pegnitz and make a turn up the hill after about 1km from the city wall. The Johannis Friedhof behind the Hesperiden Garden (wonderful small baroque garden with a nice coffee shop and relaxing atmosphere). The cemetery is very romantic. Try to search the Dürer funeral place...

Need to get out of the city? This very old cemetery is just a few short blocks from the Altstadt, and you're suddenly walking amongst a very old well maintained sea of stone and flowers. It's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I'm impressed with how differently it is decorated and maintained from most other burial grounds.

There is a very pleasant walk from the old town along the river towards this cemetery. The display of summer flowering plants in pots was outstanding - see photo. If you want to escape the crowds or have time to spare take full advantage of this free attraction.
The church is simple and has old paintings and balconies at two levels - worth a look.

Not an obvious play to go to during a holiday but this is a nice place to go to. Not far from the Old Town - you can walk on a sunny day - it has some celebrities of which Albrecht Durer is the most famous. This means that some of the graves are over 500 years old but that doesn't show from their condition. The place is kept in an excellent state and during the summer you can also enjoy the roses and other plants that are also well looked after.
