“Nice hotel, great location, good breakast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

Stayed at the Drei Raben with my parents for the weekend- we had two separate rooms. My parents' room was upgraded and was really lovely. Mine was also nice.

The service was exceptional and we were made to feel welcome at all times; breakfast and the evening pre-dinner drinks were lovely.

The only objections I have to the hotel is that my room smelt a little fausty, that the smokers' smoke from the street level travel right into the bedrooms and that the surrouding area is incredibly noisy at the weekend, which makes sleeping difficult!

After a short walk from the train station, we were greeted warmly by Bernard, and took the elevator to our Junior suite which was just fine for three of us. Our room overlooked the old-town street below with windows that opened on two sides for fresh air.
For three days we enjoyed the free breakfast, including my husband's bacon and eggs made to order, and a wonderful choice of artisan breads and pastries.
The themed decor was fun to explore, although we did not try the bathtub in the living area. The beds were very good and our son was able to use the fold-out couch.
This was the perfect location from which to set out to discover Nuremberg and we made good use of the all-inclusive two-day tour passes we bought with our Eurail passes.
Service was excellent and all the staff made every effort to ensure that we were looked after.

Drei Raben is wonderfully central, and the raven theme is fun. The rooms are up to date, but not posh. Bathrooms are adequate, but not special. We were there during the Europa Cup playoffs, and it was very noisy. The rooms have portable AC units that are effective, but also noisy.

The breakfast was wonderful with helpful service, but the breakfast room is very hot and stuffy in warm weather.

Room Tip: My mother is a smoker, and her comment for other smokers is that this hotel is not very conducive fo...

In the pre-Trip Advisor era, the Drei Raben is the sort of place one might have been tempted to keep to one's self, something to tell special friends about. However the cat is out of the bag. On balance, this is probably the best all-around lodging we've experienced in recent memory.

Pros: large, spotless, stylish, quiet rooms situated perfectly in the old section of Nuremberg, which is a great walking-around city, near many interesting museums, landmarks and restaurants, and five minutes from the railway station; comfortable beds; an attentive, friendly, helpful and very professional staff; a great, varied breakfast buffet; free, fast Internet access.

Cons: zero.

My advice: book early, and if you can find a room, take it. You'll be delighted.

Nice place, modern and very near the beautifully rebuilt historical center of Nurnberg. As in many German hotels, the breakfast is marvellous. The choice of fine breads alone makes you wonder why some other countries put up with toast and eggs...

A very central lotion with plenty of restaurants/bars/hotels very close by but with VERY limited parking for vehicles, good tidy, clean room and a more than okay breakfast, the lift, up to the fourth-floor, is a charming time capsule from 1953 that holds a max' of three people, never mind luggage. Okay and reasonably priced, for its location, and friendly/helpful staff; worth a try.

Yesterday we came to Nurnberg without a booking only to find out most places were fully booked due to a big conference in town.
We walked in to Drei Raben by chance and it was fully booked as well, but here comes the great part. The guy at the reception was extremely helpful. Despite his own guests coming and going he took the time to call several hotels and finally found a room for us. That's extraordinary good service and no wonder Drei Raben is the number 1 hotel in Nurnberg.
Thank you and we'd love to come back and stay.
