“Good business hotel”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Stayed one week on a business trip. Location is quite strategic and not too far walking distance to the city area. Good facilities, enjoy the sauna and mini gymnasium. Breakfast is excellent, but no wi fi in the room at this age ?

For years in a row we've stayed with a big group of people in this hotel. Most of the times to our satisfaction. But the minute the hairdryer in your room explodes they do not know how to solve it. Yet they talk about extreme satisfaction. May be they should first follow a training to find out what that means. This is a very disappointing experience.

Everything was perfect during our stay in the NH Nürnberg City, we recomend this hotel 100% and if you have the choice, please always take the room with Breakfast, because the Breakfast was very good!!!
The staff very nice!!

Thank you very much to all the team.

Room Tip: I think the glass window between the room and the bathroom shouldn´t be there, it should be a wall.

Spent three nights on late November - booked because of really good TripAdvisor recommendations and it did not disappoint. While not in the old city, it was convenient and near train station. Nice rooms and modern bath. GREAT beds - they say they have them made just for the hotel. Ate dinner there several nice - excellent food and service. Didn't do breakfast - thought it was a little pricey. Seemed aimed at folks on expense accounts. Definitely stay if you are in Nurenberg.

NH is consistently an excellent hotel to stay no matter which of their hotels you stay at. This hotel is well located within a 5 minute walk of the central city area. This hotel is very well kept with very good amenities and a very friendly staff. Great for the business person.

This is a modern business hotel a short distance from the main railway station. It seems to have been built about 5 years ago and needs some attention paying to the decor.

There is a notice in the room saying the beds are purpose made and mine seemed comfortable enough. It took up a lot of the floor, and I got the impression that the room and the bed were designed by different people who had not spoken to each other.

The room has the normal grudging thing at the door where you turn on the electric with your key card, which I don't really mind unless, as here, there is no courtesy timer to keep the lights on while you get out of the room. Conveniently the sockets at the desk are marked '24 std' so things can be left charging while the master switch is off.

Internet connectivity is terrible. A code number allocated on your key card unlocks access to a slow and unreliable wifi. For one device. Reception kept telling me it was for 'up to 3 devices' but when I called the external help desk they told me I had to purchase additional codes at reception, something reception did not know how to do. I. Had to log in the one device several times per evening, and sometimes the login process got stuck and displayed 'please wait' indefinitely. When it did work it was too slow for the corporate VPN.

Breakfast was indifferent, and the staff only interested in clearing the tables.

Even at the discounted corporate rate I felt this place overpriced.

Room was clean, the bed comfortable, and they had what passes for a bath as well as a shower. The hotel worked fine as a filing cabinet for businessmen, but it is little more. There was nothing to distinguish it from any other. The hotel has the facilities you would expect, even down to umbrella loan, but nothing unique or surprising. The laundry was efficient.

The location is not attractive. It is one of a group of medium rise modern buildings by a busy road, and whilst the Altstadt is in walking distance the Bahnhofstasse itself is nothing special. The location is convenient for the Hauptbahnhof, and two tram lines to important parts of the city stop right outside the door. The hotel can supply day passes for the trams for hardly any money..

My room was very hot, even with the heating controls turned off. I had to sleep with the window open, but that meant the traffic noise disturbed my sleep.

Breakfast was average. Although allegedly starting at 6:00, the hot food was not put out till 7:00. There was the normal array of industrial cheeses, good quality bread rolls, and a handful of cereals. The choice of teas was typical for this style of hotel. Also typical, alas, was the handling of the bacon: obviously a kilo of frozen bacon had been thrown into a pan and cooked in one lump, because some of it was raw and some burned, often at opposite ends of the same strip. One morning the hot trays had not been switched on so by 8:00 the hot food was stone cold.

The reception staff were cheerful and efficient, but overall I got the impression of an impersonal machine going about its business of making money. There was no Joy. As an example the 4th floor (whose corridor carpet is worn and stained) has a large work of art by the lifts. This is a rather good Diptych which had been most unsympathetically hung. Obviously designed to be hung together, the two panels were actually mounted either side of a pointless notice - that could have been anywhere - and the whole composition was spoiled. It just shouted box-ticking not care.

Room Tip: The higher the better
