We booked a night at the Astoria for 40 Euros for a double room - and knew it wasn't excactly top class. But we were positively surprised.
The hotel is clean enough, but a bit old and worn-out. The lobby is kind of charming that way, but the rooms aren't really cozy. However – they are suitable for a couple of days that are planned to be spent in town, and the bathroom was large. The staff is nice and pleasant.
For very light sleepers, it can be a bit traffic noise from the street nearby, was no problem for us.
Free wireless internett in the hotel for guests with a laptop, ok speed.
The hotel is about five minutes walk from the central station, if you are travelling by train, and five-ten minutes to Nuremberg old-town with a lot of bars and shops.
There's also a U-Bahn station half a minute from the hotel, station Opernhaus (The Opera).
If you are backpacking and looking for a good deal, hotel Astoria is quite ok.More
