This is one of those location that is understated and so worthwhile visiting. It is like walking into the past. The exhibits on the top floor above the actual courtroom where the historic Nuremberg trial took place was amazing. It provides a very comprehensive view of what took place prior, during and after WWII with a particular focus on the Nazi Party and the judicial procedures. It is absolutely fascinating and definitely worth a visit.

We visited Courtroom 600 on a Saturday when it was open for tours. We have seen newsreels of the trials many times and it was interesting to see the courtroom in person. The furnishings and arrangement of the courtroom have been changed but it is a historical site that should be visited if you are in Nuremberg. On the third floor of the building there is a very good museum that documents the trials and the verdicts. There is a lot of information to absorb and I recommend the audio guides.

This is an excellent place to visit. The courtroom building is full of fascinating post WWII history. The tour is self guided with language preference handsets. These are easy to operate and the information provided is interesting. The trials were held in Courtroom 600 which is still a working court so access is denied when the court is sitting. Best to visit on a weekend (10am to 6pm) when the court is not sitting as to go into the actual courtroom is a must do experience. The entry cost is a modest 5 Euros and worth every cent. It is easy to get to by taking the U Bahn 1 to Barenshanze which is only 5 stops from the Hauptbahnhof. The Palace is only a few minutes walk away from the station.

For anyone with an interest in 20th Century history this place is a must see. Not only are you given a wealth of knowledge in the language of your choice (via headset) at the very good price of 5 Euros. But you are also (most days*) able to see Courtroom 600 itself in which many war criminals were brought to justice.

This historic site is easily accessed from the city center by public transport.

*Be aware that this court room is still used today and so on certain days will be closed to the public - check ahead of your visit to avoid disappointment*

I went on a Monday at 9 am and got right in. I was the only one in Courtroom 600 - very neat to see! The exhibit is fantastic. Very well organized and the audio guide was helpful. I did it in about 1 hr but had I not been pressed for time 90 min would have been fine. I loved the floor visual where everyone was sitting for the trial. The info on defense lawyers, tokyo trials, etc was interesting. Highly recommend. Very easy walk from the U1 station.
