Hotel with small restaurant in a residential area, quiet street, one other business on the other side of the street (cars). Staff was very friendly and helpful, explained directions, helped with the tv remotes and we could check in very early without a problem. The room was clean, fresh linnens and towels.
But: Every part of the hotel is very worn out. Even though everything looks fairly clean, you can see that this hotel needs a total renovation. Now things are kind of fixed (like a 'new' carpet over an old one, rusty screws,...). Our linnens had holes in it, the carpet was very stainy. Once again: the staff was really nice and they try to make you feel comfortable...it just seems that they are okay with the pretty low standard of this hotel.
We also had breakfast (4 euro, not included in the price of the room, which was 55 euro for a king size bed, bathroom with shower/toilet, tv, fridge, sofa bed, desk). Once again: it looked like it was made with love, but the quality was not okay. The famous German breadrolls (Brötchen) were from the day before, the cucumber was dry.
You need a car to get into town or at least to the next subway station.
Considering all this I think 55 euro (plus 4 euro/person for breakfast) is too much.
This hotel is okay if you just need a bed to sleep and you don't care much about 'nice', 'pretty' or 'new'.
