“Thurn und Taxis”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

There are two types of tours with two different prices. They rotate between a 1 1/2 hour tour and a 1 hour tour. The 1 1/2 hour is 13.50 Euros and the 1 hour is 11 Euros. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and knew what she was talking about. We were able to see the gardens, which are usually not open to the public, because they were still tearing down from an event that the palace was hosting over the weekend. This palace is privately owned and is still inhabited by family. If you take the 1 1/2 tour you will see 8 different rooms of the palace and then the old wings of the cloister. I would say the price is a little high for what you get to see, but still better than other places I have been to. You can reach the palace from the city center in about 10 minutes on foot. It is pretty easy to find. The gift shop also provides a lot of information about the palace history, Regensburg, and the area. I would definitely put this on your list of places to see in Regensburg.

“Beautiful working palace with a fascinating history.”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

As part of a riverboat cruise, my wife & I visited the Palace with an English-speaking guide on 5/5. We enjoyed the details of the many rooms & appreciated our guide's enthusiasm. Having toured quite a few European palaces, we'd put this in the upper 3rd quartile & would recommend it for folks who appreciate history & culture.

“Pretty Palace, but the audio guide needs improvement”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We took the guided tour of the palace. The palace was really pretty and seemed very interesting. The tour is only offered in German. They gave us English audio guides to listen to during the tour. The audio guides did not contain the same information as what was being presented by the guide. The audio guides provided about 1 minute per room commentary while the guide talked for about 5 minutes. She did not mention the information that was presented on the audio guide. Do your own homework about the family, history and the palace before the tour and you will enjoy it much more.

“Turn under taxis palace”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

This was a painful 90 minute tour which could have been done in 30 mins. Our tour guide spoke German , we had the head sets for the English tour, each of the 17 rooms we when into, our guide spoke for almost 10 mins, our audio spoke for 2 to 4 mins, so you will be listening in German for almost another 10 mins!
It was not worth the time or $!

“friendly, but not very interesting”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

You can visit the palace only when you book a tour. The guide gives much information, but actually you don't see much of the palace and the cloister. The palace is more or less a must when you're in Regensburg, but the admission fee is a little too high I think.
