“A good choice”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

Pros: the hotel interior has an interesting design, the room was clean and the staff was supportive. The breakfast was good and the hotel restaurant was an inspired choice. The city center is accessible by tram, the station being at 5 minutes walking distance.
Cons: both terraces close at 10 pm (bad news for smokers).

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at this Art Hotel for a single night stay in August. It is a very clean and modern (feels almost new!) hotel with plenty of eye candy to keep you entertained. Books, quirky furniture, asian inspired statues etc all to keep your eyes wondering and captivated for more! We arrived fairly late in the evening and the restaurant was closed, but the receptionist happily helped us to locate a nearby pizzeria that would suit our needs. The hotel provided a lounge downstairs which had free tea / coffee facilities, computer / internet, shoe shine, free bicycle rental etc. Plenty of freebies!

The room itself was really lovely, well appointed, and large enough for our needs. The tv worked fine and even included a couple of English channels, and I made use of the excellent gym downstairs. There is a spa in the hotel and solarium also. Breakfast was...excellent! Everything was provided that you could possibly need and or want. Cereals, nuts, seeds, hot pancakes, syrup, coffee, hot chocolate, salmon, tomato, cold meats, cheese etc - heaven! The only negative aspect for us was that our room was located right above a road, and although it had no bearing on our quality of sleep (which was excellent), it just meant there was not a very nice view out of the window. For us as a single night overnight stay this didn't matter at all.

All in all we enjoyed a fabulous stay and I look forward now to staying at more design hotels around Europe during our travels after having had such a great experience at this particular one.

We were upgraded because we were staying a whole week and were treated to the VIP suite, with living room, shower room, bedroom, hallway and huge power shower bathroom. It was immaculate and the design superb; white leather sofas, stool and chairs; desk with free wi-fi; a tv in both rooms. Everywhere you looked around in the whole of the hotel there were beautiful things to catch your eye. Modern sculpture, unusual Asian-style furniture mixed with the most modern pieces of decor and art. A lovely, peaceful garden (which was called smokers area) with sofas and blankets; greenery and sculpture; lounge with TV; great art, design and travel books ( in fact there were great books throughout the hotel and even in the bedrooms); newspapers and magazines; free coffee and water machines; pastries and fruits; and you could buy drinks and snacks from a cabinet there.

Breakfast had absolutely everything. A huge selection of breads and rolls; cheeses and cold meats; smoked salmon; hot items such as sausages; eggs, bacon; hot pancakes with syrup; muesli and cereals with milk, joghurt, probiotic drinks; dried and fresh fruits and of course wonderful coffee. Each table had a different quirky ornament and again superb art on the walls.

There is also a roof terrace with comfy lounging furniture.

Free car parking. Free bicycle hire.

Room Tip: The staff are open and friendly and speak English. If there is something in particular you want the...

Clean, modern, computer in the lobby for Internet (the company that runs the wifi requires too much information to sign up IMHO). Quiet. Great breakfast.
