“Delightful little hotel”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

Villa Arborea is a lovely hotel in a lovely town. Unfortunately it was raining while we were there, but the garden at the hotel was still pretty, and the town of Augsburg was still charming. As many other reviewers have said, it is the personal service from Veronika and Michael Dey that makes a stay here so enjoyable. In fact for me the service was above and beyond, as I left some things in the room when we left, and when I called from Salzburg, Veronika couriered a package to me immediately.
The room was beautifully clean and light and bright and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, and there is ample parking inside gates on the property. There is a bus that goes into the middle of Augsburg - bus stop almost right in front of the hotel.
If the weather had been better, our stay in Augsburg would have been perfect!

... which makes this hotel such a great choice. The owners, family Dey, put every imaginable effort into making you feel home and welcome, always happy to have a chat with a personal touch. The rooms are big and very clean. The garden is very nice in summer, and for runners the banks of the close by river Wertach provide excellent running opportunities. Coming back to Villa Arborea is always a bit like coming back home.

VIlla Arborea is a small, family run hotel on the outskirts of Augsburg. Facilites of the hotel are of a good 3-star standard. Free parking and W-LAN. Rooms are simple, but clean and well equipped with everything a traveller needs.

The owners are very friendly and add a personal touch to the place. Service is thus excellent.

If you are looking for a good value hotel in Augsburg and don't need to stay in the centre of the city, Villa Arborea is highly recommended.

We chose this hotel from trip advisor reviews, and we not at all disappointed .We had booked this direct with the hotel and from e -mail correspondence nothing was too much trouble , all our requests were met win quick friendly responses and information .This hotel was easily the best and there were several on our Bavarian tour , the room we had was a generous size excellent bathroom and super breakfast provided.Parking is available in the hotel and 5 minute bus system to the town. The only downside the wifi which was free dropped out on us a number of times in room 21 where we stayed .
This family run hotel is excellent and I haven't any hesitation in this recommendation .

Pros: The hotel is located in a quiet area but it only takes 15 min to travel to city centre by bus, which runs very frequently. The room is very clean and tidy, with free wifi available. We arrived there at 11pm due to some unpredictable accident but the staff there kindly wait for us. There is parking space in this hotel. Although the breakfast only has limited choice but they cooked very good scrambled eggs. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help, they provide us with very good information about the city.

Cons: There is no elevation/lift so we need to take our luggages to 2nd floor

We chose this hotel based on TripAdvisor ratiungs and we weren't disappointed.

When we arrived, we found that there was considerable off-street parking on the Villa's property, which was a nice bonus.

The hotel actually has two buildings connected by a covered walkway. The rear building is newer and very modern in the rooms. Our room was in the rear of the rear building, and had an outdoor terrace with table and chairs. I think this is not typical. The whole property has a beautiful landscape deisgn, which was put together by the father of one of the owners, whom I believe runs a nearby botanical garden. It was rainy the afternoon we arrived, and we had to leave early the next day, but I can see where this would be a great place to stay if you had a few days.

The breakfast was one of the best we had in 13 hotels in Germany. We were offered eggs cooked to order along with bacon to accompany one of the most extensive breakfast buffets we have seen. The owners circulated during breakfast and they are fascinating people.

We were referred to a nearby local German restaurant for dinner (the hotel is garni) which was excellent.

Across the street is a large store (Kaufland) which is open until 8pm for just about anything you might need.

Unless you get a charge out of staying downtown in a busy city, this place on the dge of the city is just about perfect!

This hotel surpasses the idea of personal service. The owners are so helpful and genuinely welcome you as valued guests. The hotel is very pleasant and has beautiful gardens where you're welcome to sit and relax, or where children can safely play. The room we had was spotlessly clean and we had a small dish of fruit and a bottle of water on arrival. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of cooked eggs in addition to a wide selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, warm bread, all manner of spreads and drinks. The hotel is two minutes walk from a tram stop, so there's no need to take your car into Augsburg itself. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in! We'd recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 61 is downstairs next to the breakfast room, so could be noisy if you sleep late with open wind...
