“Fantastic atmosphere”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed in this extraordinary hotel for the second time over the last two years. This small town is definitely worth the visit, and is not as exploited as, for instance, Rothenburg ob d Tauber. The hotel is located in an ancient old building right in the middle of the old town. The hotel has a fantastic historic atmosphere and the staff was extremely helpful. The rooms have a romantic feeling and still have all the modern facilities you need. The hotel also has a reputable restaurant although we had dinner elsewhere in the old town. We can really recommend this hotel experience to anyone seeking a romantic and historic setting. We will be back.

We stayed here one night with the family. Beautiful old hotel (1440) and restaurant. Its in the centre if the old town. You will not miss anything if you stay at this hotel. The interior is old style with a perfect combination of old and new. Recommended to go here during July when the "Kinderzeche" is celebrated (The Swedish Army tock the town but spared it from plundering and destruction).

we had a suite (2 tv's that we never watched!) that was extremely reasonable (approx 150 dollars) with an excellent restaurant downstairs. The service was warm and charming, and the architecture of the hotel and town are medieval , highly recommended.

Spent two nights at this hotel - beautiful historic building with very nice, spacious rooms. Except for the the 6:00 AM bells from the church on the neighboring square it was very quiet and restful. We had dinner one evening in the hotel restaurant and it was a very good value for such an elegant meal and beautiful dining room. The only negative was one person manning the breakfast room and desk in the morning so getting coffee or requesting something from the kitchen was very slow. The town of Dinkelsbuhl is well worth spenting some time in - a little quieter than other romantic road towns.

This is a great and BEAUTIFUL hotel and full of history. Once we got there they received us so very nicely and took us to our room, gave us information about the room, wifi, everything! and info/brochures about the town itself, super friendly. The room was decorated very nicely and clean. Breakfast was also very good too, unfortunately we didn't dine there at the hotel, which now I regret. We went to another restaurant in another hotel and the treat us very poorly.

We stayed one night at Deutsches Haus. The hotel is a beautiful historical building in the center of the city which is also well worth seeing. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable and the bathroom looked Brand new and was spotless.

I strongly recommend this hotel.

We spent one night there shortly before Christmas. The woman who runs the restaurant and also checks guests in was mostly rude. I would say she was late 30s, dark hair, slimbuild and about 5'-6". When we got to our room, we found the window faced the roof of the buidling next door, and it was only 3 or 4 feet away. So absolutely no view. (Something to think about). At dinner we asked to see a menu in English if they had them. When we got ready to order, my wife was told they did not have the "special" listed on the menu because the menu's were out of date. So she ordered venison. It took a hour to receive our meal. When she got it, it was VERY rare. The chestnut soup was excellent. After dinner we ordered cappuccino. She brought us espresso. We politely let her know we asked for cappuccinos and she argued with us saying we had ordered espressos. The next morning at breakfast, she chastised my wife for using the "wrong" spoon to eat her cereal with. .......so......be warned. Great location, bad service by this one woman......

Room Tip: I would not go back. If you do, don't eat at the restaurant and if you want a room facing the s...
