We stayed for 1 night on our recent road trip. This is an excellent hotel in an lovely old town.
On arrival we were helped in with our cases and shown to our room by a really friendly and helpful lady as were all the staff. Our bedroom was Amazing. We were on the top floor overlooking the road. Unlike the outside of the building which is very traditional, the bedroom was very contemporary, the room was very large, with a leather sofa, a desk, armchairs etc and a huge bathroom with a walk in shower. There were tea and coffee making facilities as well as free toiletries. There was also free Wi-fi in the room. The didn't appear to be any air conditioning in the room so it was rather warm.

We decided to eat at the hotel as the town was very busy as there was some sort of festival happening. The food was very good and plentiful and served quite quickly considering the amount of people eating there that night. The breakfast was also really good and they cooked the best scrambled eggs I have tasted!

The town is really lovely with loads of old buildings and is really full or character. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or town. Also this hotel was excellent value for money

The negatives were that there was no reserved parking for the hotel, so my husband just had to keep driving around until he could find a space.

Also there is no lift, which was no problem for us but might be for other travellers.

Room Tip: We had room number 6 which was excellent.

Less a hotel, more a very popular bar/restaurant with rooms. It felt rather impersonal with no sign of the owners but the restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and inexpensive, as too was the beer and wine. The outside terrace closes at 11pm "for the sake of our neighbours and hotel quests who want to sleep" but unfortunately this does not apply to the first floor bar in the hotel, making sleep impossible until 3am. They even offered a free drink to encourage people upstairs when the terrace closed. When the bar finally closed it took a long time for the clientele to disperse, offering an unwelcome experience of the local courtship rituals.

The morning breakfast staff were completely different to their colleagues the night before - surly and slow to respond. When I complained the price was a bit expensive for half a night's sleep the response was "I can't do anything about that". I then suggested that a hotel and a late night bar for the town's youth was not a good combination, and was told "it's been like that for a long time and works very well" - for them maybe but not for us as the next day of our holiday was completely ruined. We were so tired that all we could think of was getting to our next hotel to rest.

Room Tip: One that is nowhere near this hotel

We ate lunch here as we spent a day in Dinkelsbuhl looking at this medieval walled town. Good solid German food. My pork shoulder was a bit too dry without any gravy, but was very tasty nontheless. Friendly servers. You will enjoy your experience here.
