We were staying at the hotel-restaurant Frühlungsgarten for a few days and were absolutely fascinated. Since it's not the hotels review section, I'm going to write about restaurant. It's located a bit outside of the city center in a quiet area reachable by food. The design is very cosy and the personal is welcoming and friendly. They have a two different daily menu options (every day different) that include soup or desert, salad and a main dish. All of it is exceptional quality, German cuisine but not fatty and heavy. Portions are generous and all of it for 12-14 euro. Main course from the menu costs around 15-18 euro. We ended up by eating out there every day (and we are quite picky about the restaurants) and were not disappointed. Highly recommended for every food-lovers.

I'm really not sure why all these pizzerias are popping up as the #1 restaurant in trip advisor for all these small German cities. I just don't get it. They're TERRIBLE. Either those reviews are fake or people have absolutely no taste! I just had to get that out. :)

With that being said, Frughlinsgarten was an absolute delight! The restaurant itself was a bit far from all the other tourist traps. I'd say it was a good 10 minute walk from the main shopping area. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see a fully packed restaurant. In fact, the waiter had said it would probably be at least a 30 minute wait! Wait, what? Am I back in SF? That took us by surprise since you'd never expect to be waiting at a restaurant in a small German town like this. Of course the wait lasted a good 10 minutes.

Once seated, we were greeted with a friendly waiter. He seemed a bit rushed, but in fairness, the restaurant was full to the brim. The restaurant had the traditional German decor, which was quite nice and gave a very cozy feel to the whole place. I ordered a steak with seared foie gras on top, with potato pancakes on the side. My partner had a steak/pork in a cream based sauce with mushrooms and pasta. It was clearly the best meal we've had this entire trip. Portions were a good size. We actually opted out of any appetizers since the sizes were fairly filling. I'd gladly go back in a hear beat!

This review is for the restaurant only. Unfortunately I can't speak to the quality of the hotel itself!

I went there with my husband after a day walking and visiting the castles. The good selection of food and drinks was a surprise, especially with the English menu using terms to describe the food most found in fine dining. The beef broth with shredded pancake was delicious, as well as the schnitzel and spatzle. Our only disappointment was with the dessert, described as apple pie, but really 3 slices of breaded and deep-fried apple. The service was outstanding and the overall atmosphere was welcoming.

Notes about this review:
* I only had dinner at this hotel and spoke with the staff and did not stay the night
* There is a review about this hotel on trip advisor "Hotel Fruhlingsgarten" in Fussen
* This is a duplicate review of the one on the above hotel (as it is the same place)

When having dinner at the restaurant the following was observed
* The whole hotel was exceptionally clean (VERY CLEAN!).
* The staff were very friendly - they did speak English but not fluently.
* The meals were reasonably priced.
* The means were of a good size
* The service was punctual and very polite

I would recommend going to dinner at this restaurant.

On a personal note: the hotel had a very warm feeling about it, and felt like a true, traditional German house, which was impressive.

Although I did not sleep at the hotel, If the rest of the hotel is as clean as the kitchen, toilets and dining areas, I would be more than happy the stay here on my return to Germany next trip.

I wish someone would review the rooms - especially the shower facilities as I would love to know more about this place.
