“Lovely room with a great balcony”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Friendly relaxed hotel in a peaceful area 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of town.
Great view of mountains from balcony. Generous buffet breakfast.
Helpful staff. Friendly family feel.
Apparently great restaurant which we didn't get to try.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room with a balcony.

We spent 2 nights at the Frulingsgarten Hotel and all in all it was a very nice stay. The staff is very friendly and efficient.

The room are spacious and very clean, with a good size bathroom.

the only problem with our room (no.5) is that we could hear the people upstair walking around in their room and they started at 7 o'clock in the morning and went on forever!!!!

The restaurant serves very good food at reasonable prices, i can honestly say that it was the best food that we had in Fussen and i regret that i didn't eat there both nights.

Breakfast has a good choice of savoury and sweets foods.

I would definitely recommend this Hotel it is 10 mins walking distance to the historic city centre and the train station.

Hotel Restaurant Frühlingsgarten is a typical family-run German countryside hotel – small, pretty, friendly, relatively clean, and with a dearth of amenities.

The hotel is located in a rather secluded Faulenbacher valley close to the Lech river, around 500m to the southwest of Füssen Bahnhof (train station), and about 500m to the west of downtown. The way to/from the train station involves going over a small hill and can be slightly bewildering at first time. The walk to/from downtown is much more scenic and enjoyable, and is arguably the strongest point of staying at this hotel. We feel that the location is more suitable for a leisurely trip of two or more nights than a quick one-night crash, for which lodgings within downtown would be more convenient for sightseeing. Buses to Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein, and Wieskirche start at the Bahnhof and make a stop at the eastern edge of old town. The tourist office at the northern edge of old town sells bus time table booklets. It is also easier to reach the lake Forggensee from downtown.

The rooms are quiet, fairly spacious and clean. It does suffer from a distinct lack of amenities, even more so than average small European hotels. For instance, shampoo and such come in sample-sized packets. Room keeping is well done, and the view depends on the room.

The hotel staffs were friendly and at times jovial, and the owner was very willing to be helpful. The breakfast is a standard German affair.

To summarize, Hotel Restaurant Frühlingsgarten is a small decent mid-range hotel in a fair location. The location could be better, and amenities are sparse, but considering the usual rates the value is good. It can be a solid choice for travelers not on a quick whirlwind tour.

Reasonably priced, great breakfast, friendly staff and the most comfortable bed we've slept on in all of Europe.Wi-Fi isn't free so expect to pay a couple Euros for that. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Fussen.

A big room with a huge balcony, effective bathroom, delicious breakfast and welcoming staff and family atmosphere. Quite far from the train station, so you'd better take a taxi. Transport to castles goes from the train station, but you can also ask a receptionist to call a taxi.

We stayed 3 nights at the 3-star Hotel Fruhlingsgarten in Füssen. The hotel was very charming and the location was perfect in relation to the city center (10 minutes walk). The food in the hotel was really good. Well-prepared and beautifully served. The breakfast was as it should be with bread, ham, cheese, jam cereal, coffee, etc. We bought Wi-Fi for the entire period of our stay, however, the coverage was really poor and we could really only use it when sitting in the room next to the reception.

We arrived fairly late, it's a good thing we weren't half an hour later as they lock the door promptly at 10:00. Room was decent and clean, location is interesting, behind a rock wall, nice surroundings. Draft beer was good, welcome, but expensive even for Germany. Room was a bit pricey too considering it's not that central. However, the owners were very nice, albeit a bit uptight (phoning about a minute after check-out time to inform us that it was check-out time; relax a bit, please!). Breakfast was decent. Nothing really bad, I'd go back, but nothing wonderful to put it above the rest.
