We stayed for 3 days in the Hotel Schlosskrone between Chrismas and New Year's Eve before we moved further to our skiing holiday resort in Austria. We made our booking direct with the hotel and they provided more competitive quotes direct than via websites etc.
We stayed with our 2 kids of 11 and 13 in the HerrenChiemsee room which was of an outstanding quality, good beds and wonderful bathroom. Bathrobes and slippers being provided.
Fussen is a wonderful little town and the hotel Schlosskrone is situated in the middle of the City Centre close to the Neuschwanstein and HochSchwangau castles which should be visited when you stay in Fussen. The breakfast was of excellent quality worthy of 5 stars: chocolate fountain, prosecco, in addition to the various breads, cereals, cheese, salmon, meat, marmalade, yoghurts, fresh fruit, etc etc there were also cakes, pastries, muffins as the hotel has also a konditorei. The wellness facilities are excellent.
There are two options to dine in the hotel itself either in the Bavarian restaurant or in the Italian restaurant Chili. Menu and food were excellent. Wine list in the Bavarian restaurant somewhat restricted. However excellent wine list in the Italian Chili restaurant. Parking facilities within the hotel available in the garage. All in all good quality for the money and worthwhile recommending!

Room Tip: New wing with more luxury rooms.

We stayed at this hotel the week before Christmas and it was perfect. Right across the street from the main street in town, and only a few minutes drive or bus ride to the castles Hohenswangau and Neuschwanstein. It is a bit on the pricey side but well worth it as it is the best hotel in town. Staff spoke English and was extremely helpful, especially the young man at the reception in the evenings. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who can afford it.

Pros:
Breakfast was good everyday (and free), and especially good on the weekend.
Parking on site, though it did cost an extra 9 euro per night to park.
Location is perfect for sight seeing around Fussen and very close to castles.
Beautiful rooms, clean, and modern.

Cons:
The Italian restaurant in the hotel "Chili" is not very good. Pasta was mushy and service was rushed.
The room was consistently too hot even with the thermostat turned all the way down. We slept comfortably with the balcony door open even with the outside temp in the 20s.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the new part of the hotel.

Location is perfect to start the sightseeing of the old town of fussen. It takes abt 15 min to go to the castle though. Rooms are quite small, theres a small gym and spa which I enjoyed v much. The only drawdown is the opening hours of the spa which is from 3-8 pm. Price is quite steep for the class but I guess this is a tourist town so must expect these kind of rates. I pay 200 for a room for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids).

We visited the hotel outside the tourist season, we had a room upgrade, with a balcony and a nice view on the mediaeval castle (flood-lit at night). Well situated for visiting this part of Germany, with the castles of Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof. A better choice (we think) than the hotels near Hohenschwangau.
The car park is nice and convenient (but places are limited, it seems).
Reception staff was very friendly and helpful, the bavarian restaurant was nice (the other restaurant in Italian style was closed during our stay). Excellent breakfast buffet, wide choice and well taken care of. Nice patisserie as well for those loving cakes and pastries! We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a nice view of the town and castle, but may have more noise from street traf...

My husband and I spent two days in September at this hotel in Fussen, Germany to be close to the castles in Schwongau. It's a nice property, clean and the room was nice. However, we thought the value wasn't worth the money we spent. They say they breakfast is included but then charge a 4,5 Euro "tax" apiece, so it was 9 Euros each day for us for breakfast. Aside from the "charge" the breakfast was very nice. The hotel is quite large and has two sections so it took us a good 10 minutes to walk to our room each time we went out. They also charge for parking in the hotel garage. None of this is such a huge deal, but with the prices they charge for the room we felt the "extras" should have been included. The hotel would have been a great value for the money had they charged at least a third less than what they did. I would recommend the hotel as a clean and nice hotel in a good location but not for the price.

Enjoyed 3 nights, enjoyed the variety of food options within the hotel. The Bavarian Restaurant was very good, the Chili bar was pleasant for drinks and the cafe was great for coffee/pastry. Breakfast was good though very slow for hot food the morning we were leaving.
Room was spacious and quiet with working wi-fi. Hotel location is excellent...short walk from station and is in the town centre so shopping and sightseeing are convenient. Supermarket over the road.
Reception staff were very helpful. Fussen is a fabulous stop even without the castles to visit and staying at the Schlosskrone made our visit a trip highlight.

Room Tip: A room at the back with a balcony.

we arrived late this day and it was raining very bad, after looking at the other hotels close by we choose this hotel based on a tip from a local on the street, boy he was correct. Hotel staff was extremly curteous and provided us a room with a view directly at the castle!!!!!. Right in the heart of the town which helped out tremendous, as with most smaller towns things close promplty at 6, which worked in our favor as we ate at the hotel resturant which was modern and had some of the best service and food we found. The only draw back to this property is that the internet ONLY works in the lobby which can be extremly busy with tourists trying to connect home.

Room Tip: if you require AC make sure you mention this UPFRONT otherwise you will be sorry, great workout room...
