“Great location and great stay!”

We had a very nice one night stay in this hotel in Fussen. Centrally located with spacious room, and fantastic bathroom! We enjoyed the spa and had a wonderful dinner at the Bavarian restaurant on site. Staff were extremely gracious.

When I looked at the pictures on the hotel website I thought the rooms looked very...uhh, Bavarian. While the style isn't exactly what I like (bright red carpet, lots of gold fixtures, and unfinished wood), it really wasn't bad. Unfortunately, I think this makes the hotel look a bit dated inside when it is not dated at all.

The hotel appears to have undergone a fairly recent renovation and was actually quite nice. Everything was very new and clean. It had a flat screen TV with a couple hundred channels, including CNN and dozens of BBC channels; separate rooms for toilet and bathtub/stand-up shower; and very new linens and room fixtures. As with many places in Europe, the double bed was actually two twin beds made up separately and pushed together. The beds had these giant pillows that were really comfortable--I may need one of these at home.

The location was great, just across from a shopping street with several restaurants and stores, including the only Woolworths I've seen since I was about six. There is a nice coffee shop down that street called Dolce Vita that was good for coffee in the morning. Within about a block of the hotel are several restaurants and small supermarket.

Overall, the hotel was very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Every hotel in the area seems to have the Bavarian interior so you may as well stay here.

Dear Guest,

first of all, we would like to thank you for your stay at our Hotel and of course for your feedback here un Tripadviser.

We are very happy, that you enjoyed your stay with us and would live to welcome you again in near future.

The new part of the Hotel has actually been build in 2011 and we are contantly refurnishing the older part of the Hotel.

Just now we are rebuilding our breakfast buffet, which guests can enjoy from end of march on.

Ratings like yours motivate our whole team to keep up the good work.

Hotel Schlosskrone was very easy to find, 100 yards from Fussen train station. Friendliest, most professional, most helpful staff... Located right across street from Old Town Fussen. Very convenient for bus service to Neuschanstein Castle (although I rented car). I don't believe we have ever been so pleased with a hotel (especially after the crackerbox we stayed in in Zurich).

We booked this hotel 2 days out for a Sunday night. The weekend was sold out in late September. It is right in the center of Fussen - very cute town. The front desk upgraded us and made our reservations for the Neuschwanstein castle. The hotel was upgraded just two years ago so it is like new. People rave about the breakfast because of all of the fresh pastries. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We were on the street side and heard no noise because they were replaced in the remodel.

We stayed here for three night in early October. The location was wonderful for exploring both Fussen and the surrounding area and castles. Our room was average size but clean and neat. The friends we traveled with had a smaller room, but had a welcome tray of chocolates which we did not receive :( We took advantage of the welcome coupon for free wine with dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was great. The bathroom was large and had a towel warmer--a nice amenity. The parking garage was the trickiest part of the stay. The turns are tight and many cars have left paint behind if the marks of the wall are any indication. Keep as far to the right as possible as you enter a turn, and make tight corners if you have a mid-size vehicle or larger. Wait for the green light to be sure you don't meet another car on the way down, too.

Dear guest,

thank you very much for staying with us in Oktober.

We are very happy, that you enjoyed your stay here in Füssen and gave us a good rating here on Tripadvisor.

We also had choclates prepared in your room upon your arrival. Unfortunately we moved you closer to the room of your friends an forgot to move the sweets from the original room.
We are very sorry about that.

We, very much hope, that we can welcome you back again in our Hotel in near future.

A good reason to come back to Füssen would be our newly renovated breakfast buffet opening end of march.

We whish you the very best from the whole team of Hotel Schlosskrone

We stayed there for three nights in a very nice room overlooking the main street. The view from the room was exceptional. The room itself came with two twin beds put together (which was kind of different for us), a bar refrigerator, small closet, a sitting area and a bathroom. Finding the room was difficult as we had to take an elevator to the first floor, then walk across the street on the walkway, then take another elevator to the third floor for a room number that was in the 200's. But we overcame that.

The hotel has two restaurants, one focused on Italian fare with the other being typical Bavarian. We ate in the Bavarian one and found the food to be excellent. Breakfast is served in the Bavarian restaurant with a good variety of items.

The front desk at the hotel is only open from 7:30 AM until midnight, which we found unusual, however they make it work. When the front desk staff is present, they are more than helpful and accommodating. The rooms and corridors could use a sprucing up as they detract from the overall experience.

Maybe we are too critical of housekeeping, but one would think that a replenishment of toilet paper and shampoo would be automatic. But we had to go to the front desk to ask for those items (good thing it was not after midnight). Also, finding a wash cloth was a two day ordeal.

We stayed here for 3 days in October 2013. We had asked for a quiet room which we got and although clean it was very small with décor that could do with an update. We looked out over the shopping area which is right opposite the hotel. The hotel has a nice spa area, which can be booked so that you can enjoy the saunas, spa baths and rest areas in private. We enjoyed a great massage. Some of the staff at the reception desk speak very limited English which can create problems. One gave us the address of a car sales yard when we asked where we could hire a car. The bus station/train station is just down the road (you can rent bikes for 10 euro a day next to the train station) and the tourist information office is next door. We had dinner one night in their restaurant which was nice and coffee and cake from the shop attached to the hotel. Breakfast was not the best, it is setup in a small area with not enough access for people, items ran out every day and were not replenished and the choice was limited. I would have liked a cup of tea but could not find a teabag 3 days in a row. Would I stay again? Mmmmmm, maybe.
