We stayed 2 nights in this historic town. Our hosts Mike and Nicole were outstanding and their English very good. Mike was very humorous and made us feel like we were at home. Our room was very clean. The included breakfast was outstanding. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I shared a triple room with our teenage son for one night. We just checked out this morning. The weather was cool and rainy, but the hotel is at a decent location just inside the old city wall that you can easily walk almost anywhere in the old town, even in the rain. We drove, and appreciated the free parking, but it was very tricky to fit our van in the small lot across from the main entrance of the hotel. We made it work though!

The room was not spacious, but for only one night, it worked. The beds, pillows, and duvets were cozy. The shower enclosure was a bit tight, but many places in Germany don't have enclosed showers, so that in itself was nice. As an American, I expected there to be washcloths, but no such luck.

The two staff members we interacted with were extremely helpful and friendly. Fortunately there is WIFI available, but there is a charge either by the hour or for 24 hours. (I believe 1/2 hour was EU 1, one hour was EU 2 and 24 hours was EU 5.) Only one device can use it, so if you are traveling with others, either you have to switch off or pay for each person to have a WIFI passcode.

Breakfast across from the main floor restaurant was complimentary. There were some cold meats, breads, yogurt, cereal, and boiled eggs. No hot items. It was only our second night in Germany, but this breakfast seems to be fairly common.

All-in-all, I would stay here again. We could have found a fancier hotel, or one closer to the town center, but that would have raised the price, which was unnecessary because the Gasthof Zum Breiterle was convenient enough and comfortable enough for the price as is.

This hotel did not live up to it's booking.com description. Was way overpriced as it is located not in a main tourist area and shows it age and lack of historic restoration at the same time. starting with reception located down a hallway and appearing to be a desk that serviced the non open restaurant at the same time. The building lacks a lift and has relatively narrow stairways. It looks like the carpet has worn out on the step edges so they have relaided it with the worn out parts on the step proper and slippery metal coverings on the stair edges.
My room had a number of issues. The table for your port was located under the TV which was on a metal ledge. So yes a cut head when I stood up. The TV whilst having many channels was a small old style unit.
Getting into bed my head was again bumped against a wall beam that came down at the bed head. The carpet in the bedroom was also well past it's use by date and as such was hard to tell if it was dirty or just age.
The bathroom had be upgraded in the 1960's ? not in keeping with the style of the rest of the hotel and also had tiles missing and mould on the grout in many places.
Parking is over the road in a non secure located and luggage has to be carried across the main roadway to book in and at departure.
The restaurant wasnt open on the night we stayed and that wasnt clear if it was one night or all nights.
The breakfast next morning was fine and well presented but by this stage we had decided to move to Mittawald where we gained a 4 star hotel for less cost.It had a pool, sauna, fridge, views (not the window of the next door residence as we had at Rothenburg.

The location is good, and it's easy to get to the station.
The staffs were friendly and helpful.

However, there is no AC.
We went there during summer time, and it was over 30 degree in Germany at that time.
We couldn't sleep well because it was really too hot!!
It might be great if you visit here during Spring or Autumn.

I booked 2 rooms for us and 2 children. The place is centrally located with opposite parking facility (open car park). The heating didn't work (winter!) and the rooms were both not very clean and very small. The beds were in bad condition. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were priced accordingly but I'd rather spend 10 Euros more for a better option which seems o be possible and close by. The breakfast was OK but nothing special and Ygermany can do much better than this one here.

We stayed for 1 night at this hotel and were very pleased we did. The location was excellent, within the old city walls and lots of choice of restaurants very close by. The parking was easy and located across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful. Make sure you take time to walk the walls of the town. Staff were very friendly. We had a room on the second floor which was quiet. The town itself is well worth a gist and if we were to return we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is right in the historical city center, 2 minutes walking from Market square and very close to the main touristic attractions. This is a good budget hotel: clean rooms ensuite fully equipped bathroom (the shower was really spacious and confortable) good breakfast and very helpful staff. I really suggest it for who wants to save money having the confort of a 3 stars hotel.
