We were not scheduled to stay at the Tilman, but our booked hotel had lost our reservations when their computer went down and had no rooms available. The Tilman had open rooms and was gracious in helping us relocate. The rooms were charming, the breakfast was extensive and tasty, and the food in the hotel restaurant was wonderful. The location is perfect for exploring the city. We were greeted by name every time we stopped at the desk to drop off or retrieve the room key. Wine and beer were available in vending machines--a first for us, though we did not try out the service. The beds were a bit hard, but sleeping on top of the duvet instead of under it solved the problem.
