Perhaps it is human nature that we seem to be drawn to looking at instruments of torture and how (and why) they were applied. This museum goes into a lot of detail regarding crime and punishment in medieval Europe and one comes away glad in a sense that we don't live in those times. Imagine the poor baker....punished if his loaves of bread were too light and also punished if they were too heavy. This museum is probably worth an hour of your time and then I suggest you go have a nice glass of wine and thank your lucky stars you live in the 21st century.
