We stayed in the family apartment, which is actually one street over from the main hotel. The apartment was spacious, well furnished, and had a great view. We felt like we were having an authentic experience living in a real Rothenburgian home, because it was unlike anyplace we had ever stayed. The beds were comfortable and adequate for all five of us (four adults and one teenager), and there were two bathrooms, including two toilets, one tub, and one shower. It had everything we needed, and it was a very easy walk into the town. The apartment even had its own parking spot in front of the building - very convenient!

A terrific hotel in an amazing town. We had 2 nights late September at the Burg Hotel. The location was peaceful and yet walking distance to everything. The wonderful lady who serves breakfast was a joy to wake up to. The breakfast was one of the very best during our month of travel. Tons of choice and served with a big smile. If driving, do try and park in the street to avoid paying in the parking garage.

The Burghotel is absolutely delightfully located within the old wall of this remarkable, must-see city. It is just outside of the main touristy streets - and Rothenburg gets packed with tourists - which makes it a lovely, quiet spot. We booked online - communication with our hosts was very good and all of our questions were answered ahead of time. We stayed with our children (ages 10-16) in the Konstantin Suite Room #2. It was a comfortable two-room suite; beds were made up for our children in the living room. Each room has its own personality. Ours had a piano in the living room, a wonderful bathroom with separate shower and tub and WC, and - the best part- its own door to the terrace which is right on the old wall with breathtaking views over the valley. We saw a little village and a shepherd with his flock just on the opposite hillside. It was quite a privilege to be there. The breakfast room was lovely and on-street parking was available just outside of the hotel. If Rothenburg is on your itinerary, we would highly recommend staying within the walls of the old city so you're there when many of the tourists leave. We loved the Night Watchman Tour as well walking the wall; we can also recommend the Medieval Crime Museum as a fascinating glimpse into the past. The Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas shops in the town center are amazing. Have a wonderful stay!

Had rooms #1,2 & 8 during our 2 night visit to Rothenburg. Couldn't have been more pleased. Room #2 has direct access to the terrace which was a daily afternoon visit for our group. Got wine, cheese and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful view of the Tauber valley below us. Much better than staying in the "downtown" area and I believe it's necessary to stay within the walls of the city.

Really enjoyed this town and it's rich history. Shopping was great and the nightwatchman tour (touristy, yet fun) is a must!! Couldn't spend a better 6E.

What a charming hotel. The owners are extremely friendly (and speak English well). The public rooms are wonderful, breakfast was great, and the views from our room were outstanding. We had room 20 (see hotel's website for pictures of each room), and although the pictures don't look all that enticing, they don't do the room justice at all. Like the blue bedspread in our room looks old in the picture, but it is actually a bedspread to keep the bed linens underneath clean. There are duvets under it. Also, perhaps the most comfy hotel bed I have ever had (and we like to stay at 5 star places all the time). Plus, the chair and sofa to sit, relax and watch tv, were a welcomed addition after walking around all day. It was like a little living room. Room and bathroom were very, very clean!!!

The bathroom is so much better than the pictures as well. Only odd thing, which isn't too odd in Europe, is no shower curtain around the bathtub/shower combo. They provide a water heater carafe for making free tea and coffee in the room. There was also a mini-bar. There was also free wireless internet connection that worked in your room as well as in public areas of the hotel.

We stayed in July, and no hotels have air conditioning so I was a little concerned, but there was a standing oscilating fan in our room for our use and we placed it at the foot of the bed at night and we didn't even need to open the windows at night. We were extremely comfortable. The day we were in Rothenburg was so hot too and we are from Florida so don't worry about the whole no air conditioner thing.

We peeked in other rooms when we were getting ready to leave and all the rooms looked very nice.

We only stayed here for 1 night and I wish we had stayed longer. We feel in love with the city and the shopping was wonderful. The nightwatchman's tour was fun too (no reservation needed, just show up in front of the city hall at 8pm for english tour, pay cash at end of tour).
