Reserved Suite 0, in June of 2007 for three days over Christmas. In spite of a confirmation and a reconfirmation, upon arrival we were told the suite had been given to a family of six and we were relegated to a double and a single room., two floors apart. Our protestations met with a deaf ear. The poor woman unlucky enough to be at the desk when we checked in was not to blame and where were we to go two days before Christmas? So we "lumped it" and while the management did try to "kiss butt" by giving us small gifts, free entrance to a museum and no charge for mini-bar consumption (had we known we would have drunk more) the whole experience left us with a very negative attitude toward what culd have been a very good experience. We planned in advance, were assured by e-mailed confirmation and re-confirmation that we would have the accommodations requested and yet were disappointed. It seems that the "almighty euro" is alive and well at this hotel. They must have charged more to that family than the three of us would have paid. We were traveling with our 17 year old grandson and knew Christmas Day would be a quiet one and so we reserved the suite to be able to relax together.
