I traveled to Rothenburg in October 2009 with seven friends. We arrived in Rothenburg, one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited, for a one night stay. The town is enclosed by a medievel wall, and the Burghotel is located at the top of the wall. It overlooks a German valley, and you can see the small towns nestled into the hills.
Our group reserved four rooms, each of which was decorated in a completely different manner and each was absolutely beautiful. My friend and I had a first floor room which had a living room, large bathroom with jacuzzi, a bedroom, small changing area, and a door to the back terrace, overlooking the wall. It was probably the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. My other friends rooms, while smaller, were also gorgeous.
We were very sorry that we didn't plan a longer sojourn in Rotherburg since the hotel was so amazing and the town beautiful.
The only negative thing I could possibly say about the Burghotel is that it does seem to be a very private, quiet hotel. After dinner, all eight of us went back to my room, settled in the living room with some wine and conversation. One of the neighboring rooms complained that we were making too much noise - I don't know if that is a regular occurence, or we just happened to have very picky neighbors.
All in all, I would definately go back to the Burghotel for a longer stay and recommend it to anyone traveling to Rothenburg.
