i have spent a lot of time in this hotel for business, and I have to say this is by far one of the best places i have been in Germany, the room are just as you would hope for in a small place, soft beds, warm rooms in the winter, a parking garage in house, the food is great, real family tradition style, and the whole crew are the nicest people in the world, if you get the chance take wit wine cellar tour, it's a lot of fun, just don't expect a lot of night life in this town, but a fantastic place during the day

We stayed two nights at the Glocke Weingut und Hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and wished we had stayed more! Our room was perfect with windows overlooking the the Plönlein. The size of the room made it very comfortable. The staff were absolutely brilliant making us feel very welcome. Breakfast was exceptional value for money. The location was perfect! If you are planning a trip to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, I suggest this place is hard to pass by.

We spent 3 nights here. Our room was freshly redecorated, and the staff was incredible. The location next to the old clock tower is convenient to the whole village. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for a romantic visit to Rothenberg or as a one night stopover on a longer journey.

This is a great Locarno in Rothenberg. The furnishings were dated. OK for the ,ones in Rothenberg - 78€. Has a parking garage for an extra fee which is nice on Rothenberg. The furnishings were dated. Breakfast was basic German, certainly the most basic we have had in the past week in Germany. Desk staff was helpful but if I were to return, I would spend the money on the Berghotel where friend stayed, much nicer .

This hotel has one of the best locations in town. It is a <5 min walk to the town center. The hotel itself is standard German tourist quality. The rooms were clean and well kept. Bathrooms were small with a small shower and limited counter space. Beds were comfortable, and heating was adequate, which was important as it was -10 the days we were here. The hotel has no elevators which is not unusual for German hotels but having to lug my 30kg suitcases up two flights of stairs and down a long hallway to the back of the building where the rooms were was a bit taxing for an old guy like me. There was no staff available to offer any assistance. It was very quiet at night as the rooms were at the rear of the building.

Decor was dated, and extra chairs and such for the restaurant were stacked in the dark hallway which detracted from the overall impression. Breakfast was typical, nothing special but entirely adequate and well presented.

Would I stay here again, probably not. It is worth the price asked because of its location, and I really can't complain about anything in particular as my stay was very pleasant. That said, the decor is "drab" and the rooms utilitarian rather than relaxing. That coupled with the long slug with my baggage is enough to steer me to one of my other hotels in town should I visit again. Their restaurant is very good, which is another consideration for choosing to stay here. If you are looking for a good basic tourist hotel, in a great location with a good restaurant, and can live with basic accomodations then this hotel will serve your purposes nicely.

we've stayed in this hotel in June 2012 for a few days during our Europe vacation. Clean rooms, central location, good restaurant and excellent breakfast, helpful & competent staff- all you need in this lovely medieval city. We arrived via train in Rothenburg (late afternoon) and would have valued a shuttle service to the hotel as there were no taxis at the train station, which is a Taxi stand, ..... we waited 30 min for the taxi there, would be good to install a taxi call functionality at the train station
