We stayed here only one night but liked the place very much. We felt us welcome as our name was on the blackboard on the wall. Nice and spacious rooms. Good location near the city centre and parking places in the inner yard. Very good breakfast.

We would love to offer a positive review as many others have on this hotel, but unfortunately, like another member also experienced, we were unable to stay here due to the hotel losing our reservation. Our cab drops us off around 3 pm and we show up and the clerk very politely explains that they seemed to have lost our reservation and have no other rooms. I'm not going to ramble on about this, but just wanted it noted that we will not be booking here in the future and you should be very cautious of doing the same for fear of not having anywhere to stay. He did call around for us and got us other accommodations at the Golden Rose, which was nice, but it was an inconvenience nonetheless. Plus, it was a bit of a walk and we got a little turned around trying to find the Golden Rose. He gave us a bottle of wine for our troubles, but we ended up leaving it behind in Rothenburg, and would have much more appreciated a compensated cab ride to the other hotel since we had luggage with us. Stay elsewhere or double check your reservation before committing. I know this stuff happens, and again, he was very apologetic and friendly, but it's just not a good experience to have to deal with.

Rothenburgt is a lovely city but the very thing you go for, the medieval centre, can make it a bit of a nightmare for a driver. The Kreuzerhof Hotel Garni provides the answer. Only five minutes from the main square but with parking available both on the street outside and in the hotel’s courtyard. The owner speaks excellent English and is very helpful. The room was spacious clean although a little dated. The only problem was that the water in the shower took an age to become warm, it was never really hot. The breakfast was very good with a good buffet choice including hot dishes. Would certainly use this hotel again.

Our room was very large. It had a large poster bed with a gauze hanging around it. The other positive was being on the ground floor. both of these became negatives with the extreme heat that happened during our visit. The poster bed with canopy blocked any air movement. Being on the ground floor meant that we could not keep our windows and curtains open, further causing the room to be miserably hot. The biggest plus to me was the walk in shower with the large showerhead. I loved the shower! Otherwise the bathroom was really tiny and hard to maneuver around things. The room was big enough to have a couch plus a set of individual chairs and a large antique-looking wardrobe, in addition to the canopy bed. The staff recommended a couple of good eating options for lunch and dinner. It is a hike from the train station outside the city walls, and seemed longer due to the extreme heat, but the walk is not difficult. Breakfast was superb and varied. We wished we had more than one morning to enjoy it.

Our family of 5 stayed one night here in June 2014, and were happy with the choice. We picked them because they could accommodate all five of us in one room, which is rare. It's a buget hotel, so nothing fancy, but it was quite serviceable. They had us in one huge room with one double bed and 4 single beds... an assortment of fold-aways and converted couches. Some were more comfortable than others... and the double bed, while comfortable, was also very creaky, so that light sleepers were easily disturbed by tossing and turning. However, it was worth it to have us all together. There was still plenty of room for luggage. The bathroom was also roomy, and had a blow dryer, though the shower was just a stall and no tub. No elevator (we were one floor up) but they helped us with luggage. No AC, but it was plenty cool with the windows open. No fridge in room.

Location was good... we were able to walk from the train station without too much exertion, and could also walk all to the main square and everything we wanted to see in the city. Service was good and friendly. The hotel itself was cute, with an adorable courtyard under our window. Breakfast was included and was good... not a huge selection, but they had American-style eggs and bacon and were happy to make more when we needed it. They stored our luggage for us during the day-- it was tucked into a corner of the breakfast room and not actually locked up anywhere, though the hotel is so small and personally run that it didn't worry us.

Received a booking confirmation 3 months before the trip and when we arrived, we were just coolly told off that they were overbooked !! They did get a similar room for us at another place but the fact that irritates us is that they sent us a confirmation right after the booking which was 3 months before the trip itself and didn't bother to cancel or inform us that they were overbooked! The place they sent us to was ok but I would still have liked to have looked for another room myself!! And then we found out on departure day that it happens on a regular basis !!

Totally IRRESPONSIBLE for a hotel !!

The hotel is located in a quiet street but you could walk easily to the central part of Rothenburg. The hotel staff was very nice. When we arrived we asked if we could park our car in the courtyard. He helped us find a spot right outside of the hotel on the street and saved us 3 Euros.

The breakfast was very nice, and I enjoyed this stay a lot. Would stay here again!
